Some researcher thinks cloning might be beneficial in learning about hereditary disease. How these animals will be used is another problem. Additionally, cloned animals have been shown to age faster because it seems that the have the original animals years added to their own. I do think this is all fascinating, although it raises many ethical concerns, and much of the time our technical advances precedes our ethical advances by years if not centuries.
