^I'm SO JELOUS! You met Dolly Parton! I missed her name the first time around on your list. That is amazing. Is she as nice as I've heard she is?

She has a new musical opening based on the 9 to 5 movie and she's writing all the music for it - from what I've heard it's going to be amazing.

I've greatly admired Dolly for a long time. My dad is a hugeee fan (he also wanted me to tell you that he's a huge fan of Loretta Lynn haha) so I've basically been listening to her since I was...born. My favorite story is her book "My Coat of Many Colors" which I've had since long before I really knew who she was. I still have it - it's sitting on my bookshelf.

Sorry for the ramble. I adore Dolly and I'm so jelous of you (in a good way lol).

EDIT:

Oh my gosh...Tanya Tucker! wow! When I was in 5th grade I was on this whole Tanya "kick" and I listened to (and sang) her musicn NON-STOP and I dressed up as her for Halloween.

Can you tell I'm a country fan?

Craig Morgan: Country singer
Jason Aldean: Country singer - I met him about 6 times
Hot Apple Pie: Country Band
Frank Morgan: The wizard in "the wizard of oz"
Steve Holy: Country singer
Joe Nuxhall: if you dont know him then forget it lol....I met him about a month before he died. He died the same day my Grandma did.
Minnie Pearl: Never met her but she is a cousin of my Husbands, I just thought that was kind of cool. She was on the Grand Ole Opry from 1940-1996 when she died, she was a comedian. She was also on Hee Haw.
Barry Larkin: Reds player....He was not very nice
Adam Dunn: Reds player....he was really nice
Charlie Daniels: Country Legend

At the moment I cant think of the rest....but I know there is more.

Default Elvis, dean martin and sonny and cher

your story made me remember that i met dean martin many years ago, when i was working at the UC Berkeley campus back in 1971. I was dating one of the campus policeman who was actually his security guard that day. He was taping a movie right in front of our building on Campus. I got to meet him and actually, we were invited to lunch with him in his trailer. What a gentleman he was. We also met Dianne Carroll.

And.how COULD i forget!! I met Elvis back in the '70's. Back when the Sahara in Lake Tahoe was still there. My girlfriends fiance was one of the stage crewmen and we got to go to Elvis's penthouse After the show. I could go into alot of detail, but honestly, it would be very hard to believe! And, I understand. I also met Sonny and Cher many years ago. At that time, I looked ALOT like her. We were in the front row, and Sonny pulled me up, and said "My goodness, you look just like my other 1/2" I was so embarrassed!! I actually got on the stage. i know pictures were taken, unfortunately, I never got one.

I am sure many of you remember Dean Martin, right?
Well his mother just adored him and when he passed she went
into moarning and sent many mass cards to the family in CA.
One night several months later, Dena, Dean's youngest daughter
called her to thank her for the many cards she sent and a friendship
began. Dena keeps in touch with her and even invited and sent
a limo when she was in NY last year for her book release about her
father for them to come. Also there several pages telling everyone
about her new friend and husband who loved her father so much.
There was an awards dinner in Dean's name also and once again
Dena sent a Limo to pick the two of them up and they sat at the
head table and his mother started a friendship up with Tony Dansa
that night too. He invited her to be on his show to tell her story
but she was too timid. When his show ended last year he invited her
to the last show and she sat in the audience.
Cute story I think.

P.S. WHen her son married my daughter they danced to
"IT'S A MARSHMALLOW WORLD". They always danced to
that over the years and since it was a Xmas wedding
it was perfect. Of course a tape was sent to Dean so she
could see it.

At work, we always have a celebrity for our big campaign event at the end of the year. My personal favorite was Henry Winkler (Fonzie from the TV show "Happy Days" for you youngsters). He was the absolute sweetest and nicest celeb I ever met. The most stand-offish was Jon Stewart, but he did do a great show for the crowd we had, which was all college students.

I was not at this year's event, but from what I heard, I'm glad I wasn't. We had Doris Roberts (Marie from "Everybody Loves Raymond"). I heard that she wasn't too nice and that she told a lot of jokes that were offensive to the group that we had. Most were about her mother having sex, and this group is mostly large donors who are not exactly into sex jokes. She said nothing at all about the subject we hired to talk about!

ETA: I should mention that my ex-husband was into wrestling, and we went one night to the bar where they were all hanging out afterward. I met several, but the highlight of the evening was when ex-h went to the men's room and got to pee next to Hulk Hogan.

umm.....lets see:

I met Maxwell--My mom was a huge fan and years ago when I was about 5 or 6 (I'm 14 now) my mom took me downtown to see him perform and he picked me up and was talking to us, but since I was soo young, I didn't say a word and I was sorta creeped out some random stranger came and picked me up!!

also.....

Chico Debarge......he's not really as "famous" anymore, but our families are close and I went to school with his niece & nephew (but not in the same class....they were in Special Education classes) and boy could they sing!!!

Soulja Boy & Arab....lol, I met him at a Burger King in Mississippi while on vacation...

The Winans....My aunt is good friends w/ CeCe Winans, so I've met them..

Usher/Michael Jackson's Choreographer (I cannot remember his name for my life!!!lol)...His cousin was a teacher at my elementary school and we had this big assembly where he came down and danced for us and we danced and just talked about following our dreams and having fun with it....I later found out that my other aunt was in a dance crew (think You Got Served or America's Next Best Dance Crew) with him and they were childhood friends.

Floyd Mayweather....very conceited. His family is close with mine....Anyway, he came up to my old middle school when I went there and when some of the students started screaming when he came in, he ignored us and instead of speaking he pulled out his 2 cellphones and started talking. Then, he started bragging but he did encourage us to stand up for what is right, and then he grabbed 4 people out of the audience to play double-dutch and gave them $100 each. He continued on bragging, then gave 4 other kids $100. Very coinceited, at least to me!

Paul Collins (famous artist)--My step-grandfather, also an artist grew up with him and our family would also go up to his center often for my sister to perform in front of him with friends.

lol....My family (especially my grandmother OMG) know what seems like a lot of celebrities to me and it's kinda cool hearing these stories about these people when they were younger.....

oh yeah, I forgot: E-40 (rapper)...My mom's godmom's cousin, Toni Braxton (singer)my godbrother's cousin, though I never met her....lol, lots of Motown people....I've got family all over Detroit and we're a huuge family!
