Default Elvis, dean martin and sonny and cher

your story made me remember that i met dean martin many years ago, when i was working at the UC Berkeley campus back in 1971. I was dating one of the campus policeman who was actually his security guard that day. He was taping a movie right in front of our building on Campus. I got to meet him and actually, we were invited to lunch with him in his trailer. What a gentleman he was. We also met Dianne Carroll.

And.how COULD i forget!! I met Elvis back in the '70's. Back when the Sahara in Lake Tahoe was still there. My girlfriends fiance was one of the stage crewmen and we got to go to Elvis's penthouse After the show. I could go into alot of detail, but honestly, it would be very hard to believe! And, I understand. I also met Sonny and Cher many years ago. At that time, I looked ALOT like her. We were in the front row, and Sonny pulled me up, and said "My goodness, you look just like my other 1/2" I was so embarrassed!! I actually got on the stage. i know pictures were taken, unfortunately, I never got one.

I am sure many of you remember Dean Martin, right?
Well his mother just adored him and when he passed she went
into moarning and sent many mass cards to the family in CA.
One night several months later, Dena, Dean's youngest daughter
called her to thank her for the many cards she sent and a friendship
began. Dena keeps in touch with her and even invited and sent
a limo when she was in NY last year for her book release about her
father for them to come. Also there several pages telling everyone
about her new friend and husband who loved her father so much.
There was an awards dinner in Dean's name also and once again
Dena sent a Limo to pick the two of them up and they sat at the
head table and his mother started a friendship up with Tony Dansa
that night too. He invited her to be on his show to tell her story
but she was too timid. When his show ended last year he invited her
to the last show and she sat in the audience.
Cute story I think.

P.S. WHen her son married my daughter they danced to
"IT'S A MARSHMALLOW WORLD". They always danced to
that over the years and since it was a Xmas wedding
it was perfect. Of course a tape was sent to Dean so she
could see it.
