| I hear he put a lot of undue pressure on his son. I think this may be for the best. I want David to enjoy the last few weeks, whether he wins or not.

I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | I totally agree - just let the poor kid enjoy it I actually didn't really know anything about his dad being this way....it's all news to me! Boy, where the heck have I been?

| Poor David. Like being on American Idol isn't already stressful enough. He has to have a PITA father meddling and making him more nervous. I hope banning him helps, but I'm not so sure. That type manages to butt in anyway...in other ways or times.

| I feel so bad for David - he is such a sweet kid and the one I want to see win. I hope this doesn't stress him out too much. He can do it on his own, but I understand as a parent that you would want to watch out for your child in that business -- actually, I've been down a very similar road and decided to take my daughter out of the acting/modeling world of LA and NY because I was afraid of what would happen to her. And yes, I met lots of stage parents along the way

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | This is so sad, David seems to sweet, but does seem to be anxiety ridden. I hope someone will suggest counseling so that he will be able to enjoy his success. No matter how well a child does, it's never quite good enough for some parents. Donny Bonaduce has a reality series "I Know My Kid's a Star," and it's just heart breaking watching these mother's push their children, and they know they are being filmed, so you kind of wonder what goes on behind closed doors.

| I had read somewhere awhile back that his dad was banned years ago when he was on Star Search. It said something about him trying to intimidate the other contestants. The article also talked about how he tried to get the child who ended up winning to drink milk or something before the show. I feel so bad for David, his dad sounds like one of those stage parents. He seems like such a sweet kid!

| LOL - Well, I'm sure when he joins your family, he'll be in heaven and you'll keep him straight!! I can about guarantee they he'll rather spend holidays with you guys instead of his family. (But then, you'll be getting all sorts of loony phone calls from his dad accusing you of "interfering".)

| i think it is about time. They have had trouble out of dad ever since the show started. The little boy has a great voice and I know all the teeny boppers are voting for him but his dad's actions have almost turned me against him. Dad actually made him change the lyrics to one of his songs this week and that was enough for the producers. Last edited by Sugar's Mom; 05-11-2008 at 07:35 AM. |

| I wonder the validity of this. There were so many grammer and spelling errors in that article. Makes me wonder if that was true at all.

| That explains why David always, every single show, looks like he's going to cry. He breaks my heart. He actually looks amazed when they praise him. His father must be doing some job on his poor son's confidence. He is so talented and such a sweet boy. |
