I don't know how I missed this thread but I'm in tears right now and just can't believe this!
I'm so so truly sadden by this.

Denise, my heart goes out to you and your family, I'm just so heart broken for you. I don't know what else to say. I'm just so sorry.

I wonder...has Lexi been allergy tested? I had allergies and bad asthma as a child, and everyone thought it was to pets, including the doctors. My mom and I refused to give up the pets, and we went for further testing to an allergist. When they did a more extensive work up, they found that it was the pollen, grass, and dust that was triggering my allergies, not the pets themselves. So we just had to wipe them down when they went outside, and they had to have frequent baths, but it worked. To this day as long as I take my allergy medicine I'm ok around the pets. I've had to have allergy shots too, and like someone else said...they're really not as bad as they sound, I promise. Anyways, just wanted to offer up a suggestion...I know it's hard to have to make a decision like that. Bless your heart...

Thank you, Connie! This news just breaks my heart for Denise, after all she has already been through. I had so hoped that the allergy would be something else and not little Maddie. Please let her know that I am still praying for her and that everything will work out according to God's will.

This is so sad. One thought and I hope she was tested for mites. My daughter has been suffering with allergies and thought it was due to dog & two cats. After testing, she is allergic to dust mites not animal dander.

Replaced mattress, covered with speciality dust mites enclosure, covered pillows also.

I've been thinking about them also and wondering if she would try out the allergy shot suggestions. Hope to hear something soon.

Aw I just found this thread. I'm so sorry to hear this sad news. I hope Lexi will be alright and that Denise and the kids will handle Maddie having a new home. What a sad thing for them.

I also have heard of this...I know a family that thought it was the pet that they were allergic to but actually it was the pollen that got on the dogs....they gave their a dog frequent baths and wiped them down every time they went outside just like EmrldShdwQueen posted.
