Apperantly I'm mostly Philly too! Philly is *almost* tied with Northeast.

Mine was Northeast...New York...and they were right! I didn't think ANY of the words sounded alike!!

Your Result: The West

Your accent is the lowest common denominator of American speech. Unless you're a SoCal surfer, no one thinks you have an accent. And really, you may not even be from the West at all, you could easily be from Florida or one of those big Southern cities like Dallas or Atlanta.

The Midland
Boston
North Central
The Inland North
Philadelphia
The South
The Northeast


Hmmm.... I was born and raised in WA State. It's funny though. When I worked at the PX in Germany. I was constantly asked what part of Texas or the south I was from. :) One of my good friends was from Alabama and I twanged a bit more then from hanging with her. I have this habit of picking up stuff like that. My drawl is really bad when I'm worked up and going a mile a minute. :rolleyes:

"You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio.

I definetly agree that you have a voice for TV and Radio. That's what I think every time I talk to you on the phone. You just have that...voice.

PS - this doesn't mean I like you, so don't take it as such. :p (j/k!)

HAHA! This is funny. My accent is The Inland North. It said sometimes when I go out, I may be asked "Are you from Chicago?"

Lol. I live in Chicago, but was raised my whole life in Alabama. I guess the northern accent thing rubbed off on me.:p

hmm... well... i live pretty much as far west as you can get... but i like the part that says i have a good voice to tv and radio! :-)

I have a Midland accent also :) Although I have such a southern accent I don't know how they came up with that

Judging by how you talk you are probably from north Jersey, New York City, Connecticut or Rhode Island. Chances are, if you are from New York City (and not those other places) people would probably be able to tell if they actually heard you speak.



yup, that's me all the way. I'm from North Jersey and New York City. When i was in college down in south jersey every one thought i was from NYC, and i just told them i was.

It tells me this too...That's a Southern accent you've got there. You may love it, you may hate it, you may swear you don't have it, but whatever the case, we can hear it.

I have been told I have a very southern accent. :) I like the way I talk so I guess I Love it. Lol. I dont realize I have it until people tell me. Lol. When I came to college and met some people not from around here...this one guy in one of my classes asked me where I was from and all kinds of questions and then ended with.."Im sorry to ask so many questions but I just LOVE to listen to your accent! Its hot!" LOL!!!! I thought that was funny...sweet...but funny!

Mine was midland accent. I was born in Missouri so I guess that part was right but I have lived in TX for 30 years. Oh well, guess I don't have an accent at all.:D

Northeast is on top, Philly is a close second. Its pretty accurate, I grew up in Marlboro, NY and I now live about 2 hours from Philly.

"North Central" is what professional linguists call the Minnesota accent. If you saw "Fargo" you probably didn't think the characters sounded very out of the ordinary. Outsiders probably mistake you for a Canadian a lot.
