Please keep my god daughter in your thoughts

I talked to my friend this afternoon and she told me that her daughter is fine, she looks & acts fine and hasent been affected by this at all. I see it differently though and think she is keeping everything inside, I mean how does a little girl process what happened? Especially when she called that guy "Daddy" The baby also asked about him and my friend basicly told her he wasnt coming home not now and maybe not ever, and the baby told her that she was sad and she understands he did a bad thing but she misses him.

My friend told me that he is getting 5 yrs in jail, probably even less but they have it at 5yrs now. To me that doesnt seem like enough.

And sadly my friend is thinking about staying with him, and maybe going to couseling when he gets out to fix this, but she's not sure the law would allow him to be around her daughter

I'm so mad at my friend, I understand she is in shock but she isnt dealing with this. She told me that she is just going to write it off as the past and move on.

I'm at a loss on how to help her

That is DISGUSTING.

No offense, but your friend is being just plain stupid to stay with this guy. I'm not saying that she's a stupid person, but its a very stupid decision on her part. Your God Daughter may not be showing signs of pain now, and i pray that she never will, but it is possible that she just doesn't understand right now...but it will take an affect on her when she gets older. She misses "Daddy" because he was the acting father-figure in her life. Even kids who are abused mercilessly by their parents still love them because they're their parents.

I'll keep her in my prayers. This is a disgusting situation and I can't understand for the life of me why your friend would want to stay with this monster.

No offense taken! I agree that my friend is being plain stupid and its a stupid decision on her part. She always puts herself before the needs of her children. I dont know why? She has always been like that I actualy raised her daughter when she was 3 days old to about 7.5 months because my friend wanted to go out and party and do other things.

At this point when I talked to my friend late this evening I asked her would she let my god daughter & her little brother come and live with me, because my friend just isnt stable. she rather put all of this in the past and move on with her life, but that isnt going to help her child or herself

Your friend needs to get that marriage annuled and to get her and her little girl into counseling for a long time, then stay focused on raising her daughter by herself. If she even lets that guy come near her little girl when he gets out, her daughter will be taken from her.

My friend cant get her marriage annuled or atleast wont for now because she signed up to be in the army full time, (and will be deployed) and they will see it as she only got married so she wont have to give her ex husband temporary custody of her children, and her ex isnt any better..he abused her son when he was just an infant my friend has the worst taste in guys!!

This is why I'm thinking about taking the children
