| Relay for Life? Does anyone here participate? If so when is your event? Ours is tomorrow night. Mom always walks the survivor lap and I always cry. She beat breast cancer when I was in 2nd grade and then beat colorectal cancer when I was a sophomorein college. I ended up working tomorrow night, but I'm going out for the festivities after I get off work about 11pm and probably taking Slade... I'll probably take some pics

| Yes, it does get emotional when it hits so close to home. Blessings to your mother. My daughter, who is a KU pharmacy student, just did the Relay For Life last night. She was captain of her team who raised over $2,200 as a team and placed third. Since she was captain she had to stay the entire time 6:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. To stay awake she walked. Said she walked 9-10 miles. Went to see her today. She can barely move. My father died of cancer so we always donate to the walk.

| 8th year This will be my 8th year. Our event is June 20th. I lost my grandpa last year and my mom had some skin cancer removed and we have loss several people at my wal-mart over the 12 years I have been there. We currently have one lady with a inoperable(last I heard) brain tumor. Our team last year raised just at $6,400 which put us as top fundraiser. Pretty good for 4 or 5 people!! A great concession for that night is shake-ups. We sold about $1500.00 just in shakeups. My SIL says that I have ruined other shakeups for her since we have a secert ingredient!! Jamie |
