| Confused and Frustrated So, I've been working at my job since June (I graduated from college in May and had just moved home). At the time that I was hired, I was persuing law school, I was in the middle of the application process etc. I have since decided against law school. Anyway, so I was hired on under the impression that I would be leaving in August 2008. Well in February when I had my annual review with my boss I explained to her that I would no longer be leaving in August for law school, and she told me that she would have to check with her boss about whether or not i could stay on working here. Well last month she found out that it wasn't possible for me to continue working under her, but there might be another position in the company that I would be suited for. Well, I don't exactly love working here, it doesn't really interest me so I figured it would be a great time to go out and find a job that I forsaw myself having long-term growth potential. My boss has been very supportive, telling me that she will write me recommendation letters and help me anyway she could, including letting me leave for interviews, etc. So I was really pleased. Well for the past two weeks, she acts like I'm not here, well not exactly, she still gives me loads of work to do, which is great, because I love being busy, but she doesn't include me on anything else. There are 3 other people that work in the marketing department with me. And yesterday they all went down for Opening Day events (for the baseball team) downtown, attended a breakfast, a parade and went to the game. I wasn't invited, which wasn't a big deal, because I don't really like baseball, especially on a cool rainy day. Well today, my boss tells us that her boss from corporate is coming into town, and right in front of me she tells my 2 co-workers that they will all be meeting for lunch with her boss and asked one of my co-workers to call and notify the other member of our team. No invite for me again and instead she asked me to do something completely unrelated to her boss's visit. I mean I know that I'm only here temporarily, which is what my co-worker thinks is happening, but still I feel like I have four more months with the company and I'm being left out of a lot of things because I'm not here long-term. The thing that frustrates me the most is that my other co-worker is only in our departmnent part time and the other part of the time he assists another department. Maybe i'm just being silly and maybe this is just how the real world is, but my feelings are hurt. Not to mention, that I know she goes around showing off one of the projects that I implemented from start to finish as her own. Which I know happens a lot with bosses, but still, I guess I'm just looking for a little recognition, or at least some inclusion. Wow I'm sorry this is so long, but I just needed to get this off of my chest. Seeing as I can't really blow off steam about this to any of my co-workers, in case it gets back to my boss. Ughh, I'm hoping I find a new job sooner than later so I can start working at a place where I feel included and appreciated.

| I completely understand how you feel!!! I'm going through the same thing right now but I have an interview tomorrow and I find out if I get the job for the local sheriff's dept in my town or not (lets pray I do!!!) i truly feel for you, im in the same enviornment, it's like I'm not even here, they wont answer the phones at all they put everything on me and then not say a word, but whatever I only have until next Friday and im outta here. it stinks so bad to be in these situations, I hope and pray that you will find a new job soon that you really like. It's so uncomfortable to be in these situations...

| Thanks so much. I'll be thinking and praying for you and the new job Yes it's very frustrating, I mean it would be one thing if she came to me and explained why I wasn't being included in things, but it's like she ignores my existence until there is something she needs done. I'm hoping that I will be able to get my resume into employers before all of the May graduates.

| Aww I'm sorry that ya'll are having to go through that. I know how yucky it is to work at a job you don't like. But that will give you that much more incentative to concentrate on finding a new job! Good luck to both of you on finding great new jobs.
