| ![]() I think it was a good idea to send a letter and I'm glad that you said something about the owner being abusive. I am a pit fan and I believe they can be well behaved, well socialized dogs. I have a real problem with owners of pits that attack and say "he/she never showed any aggression" when they have been unknowingly conditioning him towards aggression. Something this owner might have said if his dog had attacked, but then you see him him hit him for being good, hmm no wonder ![]() Last edited by bbrewser; 03-25-2008 at 07:04 AM. |

| ![]() You did the right thing. All dogs should be leashed and under the supervision of a responsible adult. Especially a big dog. Kinda tough when dealing with someone on the board. But rules are rules. good luck!

| ![]() You absolutely did the right thing....and the nerve of a board member breaking a rule too...that is upsetting. YOU would have been written up (or whatever they do) if YOU were the one breaking the rules, so why should they get by with it! And especially w/ a big dog (not that the dog is bad, but still). AND you need to have that letter sent in because what if the next time something DOES happen (Heaven Forbid)...so, it is better to have it taken care of ASAP before there is a next time! Way To Go and I applaud you for taking a stand on this! ![]() But why on earth would the owner be mean the the dog?? It came to him/her and the dog should have been praised! The dog did nothing wrong....now, if it had turned away and not come at all when called...but the dog trotted back....that is crazy...no wonder why some dogs are aggrassive....it is probably because they are confused! Poor thing!

| ![]() Carol, I've been wondering about you and your situation. I know it's soon, but has anything come of the letter yet?

| ![]() I dont mean to be mean... but, sometimes certain breed owners feel that they do not have to abide by the same rules as everyone else....But, you know what, if the dog attacked your dog.....the only thing that would be done is an apology....but your dog would be history.......probably.... Hopefully this was NOT this case here......but, it sure looks like it.... Last edited by Saleswman; 03-30-2008 at 02:45 PM. Reason: another thought |

| ![]() I haven't heard any more than the phone call I received last week. I haven't seen her out walking either! I am waiting for a letter, as requested, from the board assuring me it will not happen again. Next time if I see the dog off leash I will call the police instead of the board but I will let you know if and when I get the assurance letter. |
