I think it was a good idea to send a letter and I'm glad that you said something about the owner being abusive. I am a pit fan and I believe they can be well behaved, well socialized dogs. I have a real problem with owners of pits that attack and say "he/she never showed any aggression" when they have been unknowingly conditioning him towards aggression. Something this owner might have said if his dog had attacked, but then you see him him hit him for being good, hmm no wonder
