Thats where we always vacation since its only an hour away!

Rental houses can be pretty affordable as long as its not near the 4th of July or labor day. If you find those cost to much, you can find hotels in savannah and the drive to the beach is only15mins. LOTS of interesting stuff in and around Savannah- Ft Pulaski, the Squares, all the Savannah Monuments and tours, ghost tours, carriage rides, etc.

If we do the beach vacation..I really think I am leaning for Typee rather than Florida. Thanks for the extra info on things to do there!

If thats where you decide, let me know and I can pick you up tons more info! In fact I'll be in Savannah next week to catch a flight, so if you want I can pick up some brochures and send them to you.

The thing I like about tybee is it isn't super crowded and overcommercialized!

We love Tybee and the whole Savannah area! Will head back there for a long weekend at the very least this summer.

The only drawback...Tybee's beach is NOT dog friendly. Although, if taking your dog to the beach is a priority...Hilton Head is an easy day trip and they have dog friendly beaches.

Lots to do in Savannah, gorgeous parks, shopping, history

If it were closer I would definately take all the dogs...but we would be flying in from Pa so they will all be at the kennel together.
