| Anyone have experience with Australian Shepherds? Does anyone have one? Are there such thing as Miniatures? How are they with Yorkies? Do you know of a great breeder in the central valley [CA]? I've been taking Oliver to the dog parks and I have FALLEN IN LOVE with this breed. [behind Yorkies, OF COURSE] Just wanted to get some first hand stories THANKS!! Elizabeth

| They are so beautiful. I don't know that much about them other than they need a lot of exercise. It is one of the reasons a lot of them are surrendered to shelters. I watched a show about dogs and one part was about a new family looking into buying an Aussie. They visited a very good breeder and after discussing them with him and watching the dogs for a while the family left without one because they realized they were way too hyper for them. It was pretty funny because they were so sure they wanted one until they really got to know them. Then they were like no thank you.

| I petsit for one. THey are VERY high energy but do well if you train them to help and have jobs. As a breed I don't know they do with small dogs, but Cammie has always done well playing with Slade or any other small dogs (she also does well with cats). I don't know of any breeders, but I could put you in touch with a great rescuethat rescues the mini's if you would be interested in going that route. There are soooo many that are surrendered to shelters, the rescues are usually full and could use all the adopters they can get, that way they can save more from dying in the shelters.
