I don't know that much about them other than they need a lot of exercise. It is one of the reasons a lot of them are surrendered to shelters.
I watched a show about dogs and one part was about a new family looking into buying an Aussie. They visited a very good breeder and after discussing them with him and watching the dogs for a while the family left without one because they realized they were way too hyper for them. It was pretty funny because they were so sure they wanted one until they really got to know them. Then they were like no thank you.  |
Aw- I spoke with the Owner of the three that I see at the dogpark and she said she lives in an apartment and they do very well as long as you tire them out physically and mentally everyday. So they have "jobs" around the house and you just have to find out what it is that they like to do whether it be fetching in water, fetching in general, chasing things, etc...
I know I'll have to learn more... but they are AMAZING
