| Anyone have a good answer to this? I ordered from "Silverfair" on ebay and can't pay for it till I fill out a new customer information with my email and password with this person. I have NEVER seen this before. I really don't want to sign up with them, so what can I do? They also have a non-secure site that I have to click yes to or I couldn't even order. I'm at a loss on this. Has this happen to anyone else? |

| I wouldn't be happy about it and if it is a non-secure site, I wouldn't be giving out info but if you won something they already have your email address, right?

| If it is a non-secure site, I wouldn't think twice about ordering from the site. It isn't worth the risk! And I've never heard of having to customer information, email/password to order. I'd be a bit scared to proceed with the transaction.

| I would never give out my email address password. Are you sure their not asking you for a password to set up an account with them? Just type in a different password and see if it works.

| There should be no reason they need your password. Are you creating a password for their site? or are they asking you for your ebay password? If they want your ebay password I'd say shop elsewhere.

| New Customer Information This is some information we need to set up your new account with our store. Email Address : (This is what you'll use to log in to check order status or place any future orders) Pick a password : Retype your password : Secret Question If I forget my password, ask me : What was the name of your favorite childhood pet? What was the city you were born in? What was the last name of your best friend growing up? What is the last city you lived in? The answer is : This is what I get. I can't pay for my order until I sign up at this persons site. Should I be contacting someone about this? |

| I think they are asking you to create a profile on their website so that you can log in and check the status of your order.

I'd ask ebay staff if it violates their rules. I'm sure they already have your email address but they don't need any more info from you... I don't think they are allowed to direct you to something like that.

| They are just trying to set up an account with you. Your email will be like your log in name and your password is ONLY for their site. They don't need your e-mail password. You're fine. And I don't think it violates Ebay's rules, your just signing up to keep track of your orders from them. Its probably how they keep track of their orders, in a database.

| Ok, but it's the very first time I've ever had this happen and I've ordered countless times over the years on ebay. I did write to this person about this but never recieved a response as yet. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Hmmmm...I've ordered from eBay a ton and that seems a bit odd. Although, I think there are a few I've ordered from who sort of have their own "store" and payment set-ups and I may have gone (safely) through a similar process. BUT, it should still be secure (https://) - so that would be my main concern...
