| My Good Friend Just Lost Her Cat My really good friend just called me this morning to tell me she had to put her cat down last night because she was really sick. Earlier yesterday, my friend spent the whole day doing nice things for me for my birthday, and then had to end her day putting her cat down. What can I do for her? I feel bad that she's hurting. Does anyone have advice on how to help a friend grieve a lost of a pet? Do you bring flowers over? Bring lunch? |

| Yes, I think it would be wonderful if you brought her flowers and/or lunch. I think the gift and spending time with her will make her feel less alone in what she's going through. Talk to her about her cat, many people avoid talking about the dead pet/person, because they don't know what to say, but I'm sure she it will help her if you do. You sound like you are a good friend, I'm sure she will appreciate anything you do. Sheilagh

| I think a nice card and just spending time with her would help a lot.

| Flowers would be nice, and just being there for her. She'll appreciate that. And I totally agree with talking about the cat - remember happy and funny stories. That always seems to help...
