I would have loved to hear one of them sing "He's Alive and I'm Forgiven"... It is my favorite song from her but I enjoyed the show tonight... I liked David C. and Micheal the best... |

If it did not work, he would not still be there. He can insult anyone and make it sound gracious with his British accent. |

gahhh Dolly is so amazing. I really enjoyed tonight's show. I think that the right person went home tonight... |
I missed last nights episode...but from what they said, Simon was not too nice! My daughter screamed tonight....she liked the one who was voted off..and didn't like the one that stayed. |

And I just wish the "other right person" would have gone home first. ;) |

how awful was that opening number!  well, sadly I was right. Ramiele is a sweet girl, it was hard to see her so heartbroken |
It gets rougher now because there are only 8 left. And they are all so good in their own special way! Does anyone know what next week's theme is? At least these contestants know they will be on the National tour. And I think Simon looked great tonight and handled himself well to the criticism about having to "apologize" so much! Michael is so g'looking and definitely star material. |
Jason Castro, David Archuleta and David Cook are my favorites. I'm a little biased...gig'em aggies!!! |
David Cook I just saw on Access Hollywood that David's brother's brain cancer has returned. :( Apparently adds to the stress that aggravated his high blood pressure last night. |

Christy should have gone! |

I was telling dh last night... If they get the opportunity to sing some fairly recent songs, I would love to see Brooke do "Bubbly" by Colby C. I think that song is perfectly suited to her. |
I haven't posted on this thread yet, although I do enjoy the show and try to watch it weekly. My very favorite is David Archuleta, because I think he chooses songs and lyrics that move him and the emotion is obvious when he sings. It comes from the heart. I also like David Cook, because he can take a song and change it around to make it completely his own. What I don't like about this show is Paula's opinions as they all seem to be the same and because she has such a hard time speaking it makes me nervous for her, so I have to fast forward through those parts. |

LOL @ Paula trying so hard to say something smart. It reminds me of a line out of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice: "Mary wished to say something very sensible, but knew not how." Poor Paula so desperately wants to say clever things. She becomes so tongue-tied. I agree that it is painful to watch. |

She bothers me too. While I think she seems to be a very nice person, I hate when all she says is "you sang in colors of pink tonight" or something equally strange. Just tell them how they did and give them some real creative criticism. I can see where Simon just shakes his head at her. |

Full Length Studio Version - Little Sparrow I just downloaded the full length studio version (versus the TV performance, which was great) of David Cook's "Little Sparrow". Very haunting. To me, it's more than just great voices/talent. Whose albums would you really buy? David A has an amazing voice, but I honestly don't know that I would buy his album. While there have been many great ones, and I've downloaded a few isolated songs, my only album purchase has been Daughtry. I WILL buy David Cook's. ;) And possibly Michael Johns'. Whose past Idols' albums have you actually purchased? You may talk me into some I haven't purchased. |
Ramielle has cried every episode for as long as I can remember, but this last one the water works were really flowing! The more I see him, the more I am in love with little David Archuleta. He is so darn humble! Just so very sweet, not to mention talented. I so hope show business does not change him as he ages. |
I would buy David A's album -- his voice is amazing and at what, 17? can you imagine what his voice will develop into? After last week, I might be convinced to buy Michael Johns album. I also like Syesha at times. Ok, I love Clay - have bought a couple of his & saw him perform live. He was the Idol winner that year as far as I'm concerned. Reuben should never have won. Back then their phone lines on Idol were even worse. I couldn't register even one vote for Clay. I swear people had somehow blocked out any signals getting thru for him. I further believe that Idol hates to see their Idols fail, so they threw Reuben a bone this year by having him sing the good-bye song. He's ok, but it was his teddy bear personality that got him votes I also have a Taylor Hicks cd and I bought one of Paris Bennett's cds (also from that season) for my daughter -- there was another young talent. I would buy Melinda Doolittle's album from last year - she was my favorite I also bought one or two of the Idol season cds with a song from each of them I am not a big music buyer, and some of what I have actually were cds sent to a reviewer I know who sells the cds for $1 -- some have never been opened :D -- I have found great talents this way before they have become big names |
for fans of Melinda from last season I just found this story about Melinda Doolittle Melinda Doolittle’s First Album Debuts In June Posted on Wednesday, 2 of April , 2008 at 8:38 pm Last year at this time, Melinda Doolittle was appearing weekly on American Idol. Melinda finished third in last year’s American Idol competition and has been busy touring and recording ever since. The former professional back-up singer from Brentwood, Tenn., has been on tour as part of Dreyer’s Slow-Churned Light Ice Cream American Idol Tour and has a new album scheduled to debut in June. The tour was part of a promotion on the American Idol web site (www.americanidol.com) that allowed fans to vote for their five favorite ice cream flavors with a chance to win an in-home ice cream party for 25 people with Melinda performing live. Doolittle is a spokeswoman for Dreyer’s ice cream, which comes in several “American Idol” flavors. Doolittle describes her debut album, which comes out in June, as “kind of eclectic.” “I’m a soul girl at heart,” she said. “So it’s got soul. It’s got some groove to it. But I like that little rock edge. So, it’s a little gritty.” She has also just released a single online of “My Funny Valentine”, available for download at iTunes. http://www.kcra.com/entertainment/15414571/detail.html She says her life has changed dramatically since her appearance on American Idol. 4-2-08 |
