| BAD Valentines day gift??? I think I accidentally just discovered my Valentines day gift from my Husband. We will exchange this evening when he gets home. I was looking at our online banking statement and found a debit at a "sports" store. I have been walking 2 miles a day to lose weight. Last week my Husband told me I should get some ankle weights to make it more of a work out. I fear he may have bought me ankle weights or a pedometer for Valentines day. I started crying. Is it me, or is this a suck a$$ Valentines day gift??? Everyone cross your fingers that I am wrong. Maybe it is really the perfume I wanted...Yay right!

| Men! If that is your gift don't feel bad he thinks he's really doing something nice for you. That reminded me of the time my daughter got a Toaster from her husband. Holy mother of heaven's above you would have thought he cheated on her. She went ballistic and threw it in the garbage! She mentioned they needed a new one so the guy thought he was doing her a favor. Some lessons are just learned the hard way. Maybe he will attach a box of yummy candies to them as well. |

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | It's not a bad gift and it might not be the only gift. I think it would be a good additional gift as a sign of support in your attempt at losing weight. What if he got something for him.

| Once an old boyfriend bought me "shooting gloves" that I could wear at work. I thought that was the most un-romantic gift I had ever received, but my DH may have captured the title this year with ankle weights.

| I know that anything regarding weight loss was a big no no on the Valentine's Gift List awhile back....course, I would love to get something like that...but I am a weirdo though! You never know...this could be something that he bought for himself or if it is something for you, I am sure there is something "romantic" that goes w/ it! Give your hubby credit...who knows what he has in store for you!

| Girl, don't cry! Thank your stars you have a wonderful husband who thought about you. It may not be your ideal present but he actually put some thought into it and went and got it. There are so many men that don't even go that far. (COUGH* LIKE MINE * COUGH) |

| Aww, poor guys..they just DONT get it! My dad is the same way with my mom...just because she say they need a toaster or a coffee maker, it doesnt make a good gift! haha..Im sorry to laugh, but I think its kinda funny. They think theyre being thoughtful (and they are, kinda) but ankle weights are just not very good vday gifts, huh!? ;P

| A local restaurant is holding "The bitterness bash" today. They have a wood chipper out front where you can throw in stuff from your old boyfriend or a divorce. It's called the Shredder of Love. It might be eating some ankle weights tonight!!!

| Shoot...I'd be happy, he took the time and made the effort for you. My DH said last night "We're not getting each other anything for Valentines day, are we?" What can you say to that??? |

| well you can always return it and get something you DO like... if that is the case... but I think when men get gifts they think of what WE NEED .. or could be useful.. not romantic.. you know...I am sure it will be fine... |

| I think if you have been seriously trying to get exercise that he was maybe trying to get you something that he thinks would make your work out be faster for you and easier.. but what do I know.. I do not get anything.. I buy too many dogs clothes and would rather be able to do that then get something I do not want or need... I did get a wheelbarrow one year for mothers day.. everyone laughed.. but I really did want one... LOL |

| I wouldn't feel bad getting ankle weights or a pedometer at all. I've been married 32 years and sometime during our first 10 years of marriage, my husband bought me a carton of cigarettes for Valentines Day. We have since quit smoking, but I have to say that was the worst gift ever...he might as well said "here..go die."

| this wasn't for VD, but, my hubby told my in-laws 31 years ago for my first b-day with hubby, to get me a dang ironing board and iron..I gave away the ironing board a few years ago(it was in perfect shape, was never used), and I still have the iron(also in perfect shape..)..I would have rather had something (even from a sports store)..but, it's possible, your hubby went to the sports store and bought something for himself..? |
