| I'm sorry So many people just don't get it...our dogs are our babies. I would pay whatever I could afford if Lacy had a problem. She has LP too and may need surgery one day but so far hasn't been bothered by it at all and I'm hoping she never will be. But if she ends up needing surgery, I'll have it done. I also would only use an orthopedic specialist...only the best for our babies. Honestly, your sister shouldn't have told anyone how much Tatum's surgery would cost without your permission...that is no one's business but your own...and people should only know if you want to tell them. People are ignorant...I bet they'd pay that amount to fix their car is they got in a wreck....so why wouldn't you spend that amount on a living, breathing family member. You can't just replace a dog like you can a car or a tv

Thanks for sending it to me.. Brooke , I was on my way home and I had just met with the surgeon for 3 hours and bleus surgery was the following day.. I was on my long trip back hime no sleep and jus wore out and my phoen rang I looked down it was my sister.. I got butterflies. I was so excited she called to check on me and Bleu.... Well that is not wah happened.. She told me how stupid I was for spening that kind of money.. No one in their righ mind would spend that kind of money ect.....I said so what about your dog. She said I would put his A** to sleep... I said well mmm You choose to spend your money on what you choose and I spend to honor lifetime commitments that I make when adding an addition to my family... She was mad I just listened and the more I listened to her the more I felt sorry for her... I told her I was not worried God was going to take care of Bleu because he does not forsake his children .. She has many times in life asked me WHY AM I SO HAPPY ALL THE TIME? I have tried to share with her it is the joy of the Lord that is my strength.. I then told my hubby that Bleu in 3 months has brought me more happiness than she had in a long time Hugs! Unfortunately I relate

| I think it is so sad that for those type people that haven't the foggest is to how to love an animal. They are just possessions to them. They are like our children. Ours are spoiled rotten and it is not just the yorkies that are expensive. We have spent a fortune on our schnuauzers. But, they are our family, our respondsibility and I would do it all over again. Just having to have one put down in May, makes me so mad to think someone would make a stupid remark like that. When I think about it the hurt is just as much as if it were yesterday. Hope everything works out. I feel like mine are worth every dime we spend on them. Look at the love we get back in return. |

| Any pet can potentially be VERY expensive. If someone isn't prepared for the possiblity of high vet bills, then they need to reconsider owning any pet. Pets cost money..sometimes a LOT of money

| Oh how cruel that is of people. I know you love your baby and no matter what it cost, you would pay it. I know I would. I am praying that your pup comes through this surgery with flying colors. My heart goes out to you. And as for "stupid", well, "stupid is as stupid does" ... (quoting and agreeing with Forrest Gump)

| Brooke~ I agree with your feelings completely. I would do anything to save my Max (or any other animal I had) even if it meant selling my jewelry or even my wedding rings or my car if I had to. I don't understand people who just don't "get it". But I also have been in emergency clinics when extremely poor people brought in an animal that had something really horrifically expensive wrong with it and if they couldn't qualify for whatever credit program they've got at the clinic, and they couldn't pay (which obviously they couldn't), the only other option that the clinic gave them was to have the poor animal put to sleep . I hate going to the clinic for that main reason; it hurts so much to see someone who WANTS to save their pet, but CAN'T b/c of the outrageous costs. That's when I wonder WHO's interest some vets really have at heart . I don't expect them to work for NOTHING, but I think they should be a little more compassionate and try a little harder to work with people in financial distress. I mean, really.....can you even IMAGINE someone coming out and saying "well, I guess since you can't pay $2500 up front, we'll just have to put him to sleep"???? I swear, I HEARD the vet tech say that exact thing. If Max hadn't been so sick, and it was after hours, I would have taken him home immediately. On the other hand, some people just aren't animal people. I act like those people are invisible, LOL. Don't let stupid people bug you; life is too short to let them give you even a nanosecond of unhappiness b/c they're just not worthy.

| Don't let those people get to you. They obviously don't know what its like to love a pet. Hopefully they DONT have any animals. And what matters most is that Tatum is your baby and she's not going to be put to sleep over her knees. Shes very lucky to have you as a mommy, and not any of these inconsiderate a-holes out there.

| Donating YT 11K Club Member | I'm sorry. That makes me really mad too because they don't know how much our babies mean to us. They don't deserve to have dogs, someppl just don't realize that dogs are a full time job like raising kids, they are our kids. They can't just dispose of them when they get sick, it makes me so angry! Feel better, and don't pay them any mind, they don't matter!

| I am sorry you were hurt by rude and ignorant people. Some people lack compassion and understanding when it comes to people and animals. Too bad we couldnt put them to sleep and make it a much better world for those of us who have true compassion for all things living. Hugs.

| Brooke, Don't let them get to you. I figured out a long time ago that there are dog people, people who kinda get dog people, and people who don't get dog people at all. This last group are the same people who told me to sell/give away/pts my dogs when dh and I were first married and couldn't find a home to rent that allowed pets. Ugh. They drop their own dogs off to be pts because they aren't potty trained, or have too many fleas...(ask any rescue group) They send there family pets to another home the minute, nay the second, they become inconvenient. Or if we are lucky, they never bother to get a pet in the first place. Don't let them get to you. Millions of us understand what you are doing, feel for you, and support you. You will never find 100% of people in agreement with anything you do. I don't understand why they feel they need to speak their opinion outloud, I do believe they don't realize the depth of the pain that they cause. Ignore it.

| I don't know how anyone could ever say such a thing. It's heartless. I wish you good luck with your little baby and hope all comes out well.

| I am sorry that happpened to you. Unfortunately there are some of us that consider our dogs as ur babies and their are some that just think of them as dogs. Alot of people who think f them as dogs would never pay for an expensive surgery they would just put the dog to sleep and that is sad. You have a big support system here that understands how much tatum means to you and thats whats important not what somebody that you dont even know says

| Ohhhhh Brooke......don't let those nasty people w/ their cruel and ignorant comments get you down! Tatum is your precious baby...and you know that you would do anything for her. You know what you can handle and what needs to be done......those other people DON'T and never will until they get a precious Yorkie themselves to see how something like that...well, it is just NEVER thought of....(unless like you said, there were no other alternatives and they were suffering in pain). You hang in there and know that you are doing what is best for that sweet baby girl! Those other people have no heart! ![]() Hugs to you and Tatum and Steddy too!

| As someone stated before....any pet can be expensive....and you should know that going into becoming a pet parent! It is sad that so many pets get turned over to shelters, etc because their owners realized that having a pet was more than they could afford or handle. ![]() Yes, some people do think of their dogs as just "dogs", but I don't know how...every dog I have ever owned was more than just a "dog" to me...one look into those eyes full of love and loyality....no way...that is more than just a "dog". But even w/ just a "dog" they have vet bills too....But I know some people may not be able to afford such high bills or want to mess w/ it....but I just think that is sad
