Oh my goodness Jenn I am so sorry I am just now seeing this... That wound looked BAD. i know you had to have been scared.. I would have. I sure hope he feels better soon... I will say a special prayer for a speedy recovery for Mister Rusty! he is very beautiful by the way! |
Jenn, that was horrible. Glad Rusty is home now and recovering. I just cant imagining a cut like that NOT making him want to howl and whine... it was just a nasty cut.... anyways.... glad he is home and doing better |
Poor Rusty. I'm so glad he's OK. He is such a handsome dog! I think I'm in love :) I showed hubby the pictures and he said it looked like he was caught under a barbed wire fence. Can you walk along any fence rows to see if you see fur? If you find the spot, maybe you can do something to fix it so it won't happen again. Hugs to you and Rusty. |
aaaaawwww, i just saw this now. i hope rusty is feeling better today. he looks a lot like my old lab...they are such sweet dogs!! heres hoping for a speedy recovery. give him lots of kisses from us!!! |
Glad to see Rusty home and on the road to recovery! |
Aww Jenn, I'm just seeing this. Oh poor baby! Get Well prayers for Rusty! :hands: :hands: :hands: :hands: :hands: I don't know - that looks kinda strange for a bumper cut... wouldn't it be going in the other direction? Vertical instead of horizontal? Because if it were how the vet said, then the head or his rear end should have been injured in some way ---   Oh well, I'm no vet. I just hope he doesn't get an infection and is up and running as soon as possible  Love & Hugs from my Kids to Yours... |
Checking in to see how Rusty is this morning. Me and Lucy send him big hugs... |
Thank you all! Rusty is back to his hyper loveable self today. He has been in and out and runny and playing w/ the other big dogs, etc. It is chilly and windy here today, so they are all inside right now. It is like nothing is wrong with him...they are such tough dogs! We have walked all of our fences and there is nothing - most of our fences are the square chicken wire type fence w/ barb wire (if that makes sense) - and we also looked under some of our equipment, etc and nothing...didn't see any blood or fur or where they may have dug under one. Gerald said that the vet said that was the first thing she thought it was caused from...the bumper of a car....I don't know though...I have never had a dog get hit by a bumper or anything..... Anyway....she assured us it was not from another animal...so we do feel better about that...since we have so many big wild animals around. Thanks again for all of your kind comments and your thoughts and prayers. I hope that when he goes back on Wednesday, everything will look good and be healing up nicely!:xfingers: |
Wishing dear sweet Rusty well. Sheilagh |
Maybe he tried to squeeze himself under something? it is a really odd looking wound and pretty big too! poor baby! I hope he recovers well. |
Oh my gosh Jenn! I am just now seeing this about sweet Rusty! Gosh that poor baby, it looked so bad!! :( I think I seriously would have FAINTED if I saw that!!!  I\'m so glad that he is ok though and is healing...that is great! And thank goodness it wasn\'t an animal that did it. Poor baby...give him a little hug for me! |
