You can love someone and dislike them. You can love the whole world as a whole and people in general and not particularly like them personally. I love my husband, but sometimes I do not like him...............

Also...God does love everyone unconditionally because he is God and he is perfect....we are human and we are not perfect.

I don't like what she said and I find it horribly offensive, but we have a right to free speech in this country, and so she does have a right to say that. It doesnt make it a good thing to do, but she can do it.

Everyone is entitled to their personal beliefs (or lack of beliefs, for that matter). She has as much right to say what she said, as everyone else who thanks Jesus does to thank Him. Just because a large percent of the population finds it offensive, it doesn't mean she can't say it.

I was scared when she said that I never would but.... at judgment day only she will answer for what she did so I don't care and personally I think al the fakeness going on in this world with regards to black people and the way Bush if f###### up everything and all those scandals with the Cahtholic( loving) all those boys would be more useful to me to pay attention to than some flippant comment a COMEDIAN made. IF SHE could only see this thread now.WE MADE HER A LITTLE MORE FAMOUS

no, you should not. HOWEVER, if someone got on there and started yelling about how wrong whatever you believe in is...yes, you should be offended. and that is basically what she was doing IMO

well, it's one thing to not be able to stand someone who is in the public eye...but you are right....we should love unconditionally. but we are all human...and it is very easy to find someone annoying and not care to see them or have anything to do with them. and just because we are christians, catholics, jews, buddhist...whatever we claim to be...doesn't make us perfect. we are still human, and are granted room for error.

I saw that before. My opinion is that she started off with something that could have been found funny, even by us Christians. I've heard other comedians successfully dish on celebrities insincerely thanking God and Jesus (keep in mind, the "insincerely" remark is my editorial comment

). But then I think she just simply took it TOOOO far for most of our sensibilities. Then it became uncool.

I'm with you 100% on this, Mandee. I think it was repulsive and as if she slapped all Christians across the face. I have no respect for someone who can blast the name of Jesus. I am sure she has turned off many of her admirers and I hope her career takes a dive. As far as God wanting us to love one another...he surely doesn't mean that we should choose to sit and watch her sick comedy. We are to turn away from that sort of thing and that's what I'm doing. She makes me sick to my stomach.

Dawn, I will apologize for using that term. I certainly did not mean to offend you and I'm sorry. When I say non-believer, I am referring to not believing in Jesus or God...the topic of her statement. I am not saying you..or others..do not have beliefs. I never really thought about that term that way, and you are right...it's not really a fair term. but it is popularly used for some reason.

I have said many times in this thread that I mean no disrespect for other religions or beliefs...and I stand by that. nobody knows what the "right" belief is...we all simply find what our souls and hearts and minds are comfortable believing...and we all have different beliefs in that. and I, for one, can totally respect that.

so again, I am sorry if I offended you by using that term. I really like you and have not meant to upset you, or anyone else, at all. forgive me???
