| Wedding Plans!! We have a date set and a few of the bigger things are starting to fall into place! We are getting married on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at Hope Lutheran Church, in Rush Center, Kansas. (This is where I grew up) Our reception will be at the City Auditorium in LaCrosse, Kansas. Blake's uncle is going to roast a hog for us so we just need to make arrangements for side dishes. My mom is a cake decorator, so she is insisting on making the cake. My manager at work is going to come home with me and make my flower arrangements. We've hired a DJ and I think I've found the photographer that I'm going to use! My colors are black, brown, creme, and lavendar. It will be a very western wedding...lots of barnwood, horseshoes, but yet very classy as well. It feels so good to have plans starting to fall into place! Now I just need to start trying on dresses!

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | YAY! LOVE those colors - I'm ALL about the earthy colors. That sounds just lovely. What are you thinking for dress style?

| Great color choices!!! I'm sure it's going to be a beautiful wedding. If you need any wedding checklist or other info, you can PM me. I have a whole bunch of checklist and stuff that I can forward to you so that you can plan for your wedding (but it seems like you have most of the major items ticked off already).

| Two of my close friends have gotten married within the last 6 months and I have I played a major part in helping with their plans. It is so much more fun to be making plans for myself now! I've picked a dress out that I really like, but I'm trying not to get too many ideas in my head until I can get into a store and just start trying things on to see what looks good on me. I don't want to have my heart set on a style only to find out that it looks bad on me. bridesmaid.jpg These are what I have in mind for bridesmaid dresses. I'm thinking that maybe they will be in brown and then have accents(jewelry and shoes) that are black. The crystal pin on the dress is a must! candy bar.jpg I definitely want to do a candy bar type thing at the reception. I want little bags with our monogram or something on it so guests can take candy home with them. I'll probably use candy in all of our wedding colors. pictures-wedding-cakes-71.jpg I'll probably end up choosing a more traditional cake, but I love this one! my bouqet.gif This is exactly what I want my bouquet to look like. It was on the Fall 08 edition of Elegant Bride.

| Oh my gosh I love your choices! You are going to have a gorgeous wedding! I hated planning mine, but now I wish I would have "stopped to smell the roses" and enjoyed it a bit more. I can't wait to see your dress!

My best friend was alot like you. She didn't take her time to plan anything. She let her mom take care of most of the big things and then she waited until the last minute to make any of the fun choices so she had to settle for whatever would work into the time crunch. I am enjoying making these plans. I've signed up for tons of free catalogs for favors, invitations, dresses, honeymoons, etc. I really want our wedding to express who Blake and I really are.

I love your theme. We got married at an amazing location way out in the boonies, and since my hubby is cowboy, the boys wore cowboy hats and boots.. Also had cream paisley vests under their tux jackets. I even let them wear their wranglers.. new of course! It was great because most of our friends are horse people and other veterinarians so it was really comfortable for everyone because they were all kind of in their element. I had several people practically freak out when I said the guys were wearing jeans, but I didn't care, it was MY day, not theirs! Besides, it was great fun!
