| Getting very sick....what can I do????? I have been fighting with a sore throat, head congestion, and now a really bad cough. The dr. says I can take benedryl, but it doesnt' seem to be helping. I have tried drinking hot teas but the smell just makes me want to puke. does anyone have any advice? I am 9 weeks pregnant so have to be careful what I take. This is no fun

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Can you try some steam to help relieve the conjestion? Run the shower and sit in the room when it's all steemed up. Just try and rest and drink lots of fluids. I hope you feel better soon. Mornng sickness is bad enough but then a bad cold, that stinks

| So sorry about being sick. I am on the tail end of that cold and everyone at work got it. Try some ginger for your nausea. Take care of yourself and your little one. Hope you feel better soon.

| There's also something that you throw in the shower to help break up the congestion - I can't remember the name and since you do not take it internally, it should be fine to use - but I'd check the label to be sure.

| before you take anything, check with your doctor - sometimes you can take different things in different trimesters.

| when I was 11 weeks pregnant, i was given the 'ok' to take sudafed and it helped tremendously.. at the time i also was a really bad insomniac (well still am lol).. and was given ambien.. but now i can't remember if he said it was safe to take during the whole pregnancy or just the 1st tri or 2nd tri... cause i'm in my last trimester and i know there are some meds you can take early on but can't take later (like Motrin cause it closes the ductus arteriosis early).. anywho, hope you feel better! you should try the preggy pops they help the nausea but of course, always ask your ob because they know best... and all Ob doctors are different.. so just because 1 person says their doc can take this, doesn't mean your doc will say you can too |

| Go to the drugstore and get yourself a Neti Pot. You use a special non-iodized salt with warm water and it literally cleans out the sinus cavities. Since pregnancy causes stuffiness in general, I think you will find it makes a huge difference!!!!! Use it daily. Hope you feel better soon.
