| Anyone have a high CA-125 test? CA-125 is a very poor screening test for ovarian cancer. It's not very good because the false positives/false negatives tend to be high. Anyways, I've been having some other issues and the doctor called yesterday to tell me my ca-125 came back at 44.5. The normal range is under 35. He says it can be any number of things and try not to worry and I know that those tests are not always correct but I can't help but worry! Anyone had any experience with this? |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Sorry no experience with it, does ovarian run in the family? I would ask the doctor what else it could be and maybe retest in a month. I will keep you in my prayers.

| Yes, ovarian and breast cancer. One of my ovaries is also enlarged and they are repeating the ultrasound on Tues. The doctor says abdominal bleeding can cause it and I read that things like fibroids and endometriosis can cause it to be high as well..... |

| I was diagnosed with OVCA in 2001 after I had ignored all the symptoms and it wasn't until the tumor had gotten so large that I could actually feel it with my hands when touching my belly that I did anything about it. The first thing they did was an ultra sound and of course since it was as big as a house ...there was no denying it, but my CA-125 came back normal. It wasn't until after the surgery that we knew for sure that it was cancerous, so unfortunately the test is not a good marker for me. |
