| In my culture it's only natural to stay at home till your older, we don't move out at 18... i did move out of my parents house to live with my now husband when i was 18 but we are still living at his parents house (which it's also tradition to do , to live at the husbands parents house lol).. and it's actually worked out for us. we're able to save and pay off our credit card debts and save for our daughter and this one on the way and it really helps beucase a few of my friends have their own apts and some had to move back home because the rent was just too much, I live in los angeles so everything here is overpriced lol. |

				   | Im thinking about moving out next year, around summer time... possibly. But my only problem is I don't want to live in an apartment, and I don't know how to search for houses for rent, besides just driving around. |

I want to save money not lose it. I don't know how to search either lol and i think buying a house is a huge thing so idk what to do.

				   | I moved out when I was 18-19ish and I LOVED it!!! I moved from my parents home to my college campus and LOVE EVERY MINUTE OF IT, then after a semester I moved in a condo with a roomate then after about 6 months I moved into my very own apartment THAT WAS SOOOO LOVELY then I got married when I had just turned 22 If I could do it all over again the single and living on my own again I would LOL (shhh don't tell the hubby)

Same here. Plus in an apartment, Aubrey and Dakota wouldn't be able to play outside and I would have to pay a lot for pet fees!!! So thats why Im going to wait a little bit longer, this years the car.. next years a house, or condo.. whatever. Plus I need more credit in order to get a house or whatever.

Im not saying NEVER own... definately DO own... I own my own townhouse. I love it, but living in an apt definately taught me a LOT about how to handle being on my own, before I took on MORE responsibility of OWNING!

				   | I'm 20 and moved out on my own (w/bf now hubby) when I was 19. My advice is STAY HOME if it's free! Try to deal with living with your parents, but sometimes it is UNBEARABLE but it's def. worth it in the long run. I wish I could go back home to mommy and live with her because I hate paying for everything on my own! Everything is so expensive! If you do, get a roomate or 2 to split the cost! |

Actually my older brother is 24 and he did the same thing. He went away to college at 18, lived over there dorming and after 2 yrs moved into a condo with 2 friends. A yr later he moved into a condo with his now gf and they have a baby. They fixed the place up so much and is now worth so much more than what they bought it for, so like in 2 yrs i think they are going to sell it and buy a house. That's like something i would like to do. But he had a car..i don't yet. That is my first step, im saving up now. Cause where he lives is like 45 min from the city

That is true. It's just the way i see it i guess because i live in NY and omg an apt. here with only one room is like $2,000 a month i swear, now that is pointless! My friend that was living in my building paid almost that and she only had one bedroom. My mom doesn't even pay half that cause she has rent control but if i went out looking for an apt. i know 2000 will be what i will have to pay for no space, so i just think like a condo or something is more reasonable. But i agree renting your first apt. teaches you a lot.

Just make sure you have enough money, and when you move out make sure that you have enough and don't just say "well I hope I have enough" my friend did this... well she just turned 19 this past NOv and she has a $10k loan out from all her debt.... .. so if you want someone to talk to about not having money to pay for things, I know the right person!
