I use to cry too easy and anything remotely sad depressed me, ie if I saw a homeless person, I would feel bad all day, road kill runied my day. I always felt I was too sensitive for this hard world but antidepressants have helped. I still am sad some but not as bad. I only take 1/2 the pill but I think I will start taking the whole one soon since I have been getting sad again. |
I cry when I get mad, frustrated, or angry. It really sucks especially in work environments when you are trying to find for your point. It makes you look like a whiner. I however, don't cry at other stuff & i dislike sad movies, not cause they make me cry but because i like to use movies as an escape from sad things. I however am starting to cry at more things now, like sad commercials & such. Also not to blow your theory, but I am righthanded & very good at math. |
Dont worry, I cry over work all the time as well. Its like I have a love/hate relationship with this place. The only reason I stay is 1) i really get along well with one of my bosses 2) they work well with my school schedule. But other than that I really hate it here, I feel overworked and under appreciated. Actually I feel taken for granted. WOW that felt good :) |
I am the SAME way. I should buy stock in Kleenex. I cry when I'm dissapointed, when I'm sad, when I see a sad movie/TV show. I'm also really sappy when it comes to music. I'm glad to know I'm not alone in the crying when mad thing. It drives me INSANE because when I'm mad I want to be mad, I don't want to cry lol. and when I see other people cry I'm gone. I don't care if its someone I'm really close to, or some random person on the street. it kills me. I think I'm a right brained thinker, because I'm really into the arts and things of that sort. I didn't know that could affect it. |
If you look at history, many Right Brain Thinkers actually committed suicide. Mozart being one of them. That's why I said if you find you can't control your crying and you feel it may be more go see your doctor. There is help out there if you need it. I was fine until I hit about 33 years of age. By that time I had a lot of stress in my life and it put me over the edge. There is nothing wrong with crying but those of us who have had troubles know what kind of crying I'm talking about. The crying does also go hand and hand with anxiety. This thread is great because it shows us that we are not alone and the amazing part is that a lot of us are right handed thinkers. Very sensitive and passionate etc. Many good qualities come with being a right handed thinker this is just one that is sometimes not so good. |
Right handed, here and i get choked up at EVERYTHING. So, I don't watch chick-flicks, not that THAT makes a big difference. I can barely make it thruAmerican Idol finals:rolleyes: . We are all just a big bunch of saps. I think I will run for The Sappy Club President:D . I figure, as long as the tears keep flowing, my tear ducts will never get clogged;) . Sad part is, I get mad, I cry, I can't talk when I cry, so I can't fight. I can't even have a good arguement. It's like my throat slams shut - no voice will come out. Oh well, it looks like I'm not alone:D . |

I'm 56 now and since 2 years I'm taking antidepressants and the crying stopped almost completely. Only if there is a really good reason then the tears come but not anymore just b/c the local high school band marches down the street... |

lol this made me laugh. I cry during every American Idol or Canadian Idol finale. The Sappy Club sounds great to me. I'm pretty sure that Beethoven committed suicide too. I'll have to double check. |
Sorry looks like Mozart and Beethoven's deaths were both questionable and never determined for sure, so people believed that they may have been suicides. Undetermined. |

I "well up" at sad things, or choke up. I don't actually all-out cry unless it's really bad. I wish I just let myself cry more. I "stuff it" down. I guess I grew up that way. I am a Right Brain (no math for this girl!) that is Right-handed, but I naturally was inclined to be Left-Handed but my dad wouldn't let me (said life is tough for lefties and would come pull the pen out of my left hand and put it in my right). They say thats bad to do, but I my dad was very loving and tender-hearted himself, he'd cry over things. I'm sensitive to things and usually have premonitions and what-not. Oh, fyi, I'm kinda Ambi-dextrous now, I can only open jars or turn on faucets left-handed. LOL!! |
Omg, you sound just like me. I cry at everything too - I always have...and I too hate it, it's so annoying! I am VERY emotional/sentimental...alot of women in my family are like this - a bunch of saps! lol. The other day a commercial was on T.V. and I started crying and it wasn't even really that sad! Hubby was like, OMG....you have got to be kidding me.... He is always making fun of me because I cry so much :( Errr, I hate it! |
seriously.. im the SAME way!! ;) i get it from my grandma, thats for sure!!:p |
