YT 2000 Club Member | ![]() When we were little a baby owl was found in our yard, my mom called the wild life people but they could not take it, so my mom would keep him outside and she fed him. The wild life people told her what she could give him and how not to handle him so he could be returned to the wild if he servived. We called him Hooty, he was so cute! He ended up growing and flew off by himself one day.

| ![]() I owned a SUGARGLIDER...a lil marsupial that fit in my hand. He was nocturnal and had big eyes. During the day i wore a pouch around my neck -he slept in there or if i was at work he had a large cage. i had to cut tons of fruit for him weekly. One day I put his cage on the balcony and he got out and I never saw him again. so sad. The lil bugger had opposing thumbs and had never attempted to open the door himself. I also had a dwarf rabbit that was litter box trained. She was Marta bunny. Marta went everywhere with me. She chewed all my baseboards and speaker wires ![]() |

| ![]() I used to have a Giant African Land Snail, they can get pretty big, about the size of a dinner plate! I gave it away to a friend that had another, One time i put it in a box in the the garden while i was cleaning the tank out, I noticed my Staffy was running around the garden with something in his mouth and i realised he had picked up the snail! amazingly he was so gentle he never even cracked the shell! ![]()

| ![]() When I was 18 I had a ferret and a scorpion. The scorpion was pretty interesting...i had to put live crickets in its aquarium and it would kill them and eat it. A friend of mine at the time named him Bob..lol.. |

| ![]() I want a scorpion.. im kind of infactuated with them LOL We grew up in the sticks and we found 'pets' all the time... we had ducks, geese, rabbits, turtles, snakes, salamanders, etc... For more real PETS, ive had a bunch of house trained rabbits that were liter box trained... I also had iguanas who just roamed the house. I used to paint their toes so I could tell them apart. One would get red toes and the other would get pink! The pet store would always laugh when I took them in for a claw clipping HAHA Oh and my dad found a sparrow once, we named it mcnugget since it looked like a raw chicken nugget with no fluff or feathers and it lived miraculously and we kept him in a birdcage and he would sit on my dads shoulder when he was out and just sing away! He was cute!

| ![]() I have an African Spurred Thigh Tortoise (aka Sulcata Tortoise) in addition to Toby. His name is Henry and he is 3 years old. My bf got him for me for Christmas 3 years ago because he knows I love turtles. Well, little did I know that Henry will be around longer than I most likely will. When I first got him, he was no bigger than a matchbox car and now he is bigger than my palm. It's funny cause Toby is so afraid of him. Every once in a while we try to have them play together but Toby just can't seem to warm up to Henry. Hopefully, in time. Eventually, Henry will need his own room. He will reach full growth by 18 to 20 years and can weigh anywhere from 80 to 100 lbs. They live on average from 50 to 100 years. Overall though, he's great...definitely my most exotic animal.

| ![]() When I was little we had a pet alligator. We kept him in the bathtub and took him out when we took a bath and put him in one of those little kid's blow-up swimming pools. Except as he grew and got older, he did NOT like being picked up, and he bit, so we had to give him away to a friend who kept him in his creek (he owned a lot of land and the creek was on his property) behind his house for many years, til Allie died. We also had an ocelot for awhile when I was a teenager (until she shredded my mom's silk living room chair). I had 2 Moluccan cockatoos for 18 years, lots of exotic fish, a couple of emus (not in the house of course), lovebirds, redrump parakeets, English budgies, American parakeets, silver eared Mesia, different finches, and a cockatiel. And a couple of red-eared slider turtles. Which reminds me; I was going to research small aquatic turtles~ thanks for reminding me, LOL!

Donating YT 14K Club Member | ![]() My son has had a pet snail, named Gary but Gary went to snail heaven...well, my son said he was hibernating, but I'm not too sure about that. ![]() Right now, we have a pet frog named Croaker. This is NOT a picture of Croaker, but Croaker looks just like this one.
