| things finally falling into place... so i just wrote a post in another thread, but i am so very excited, i just need to talk about this! (and what better place than here! lol) I own(ed) my own business that me and my fiancé built from the ground up. it has been a HUGE struggle. first i was working for another company that treated me like "poop" and didnt pay me what i deserved for running the business completely. so my wonderful fiancé decided to help me start up my own business and tell my old boss to "mess off" ( ) when i quit my job and started the new business i was diagnosed with cancer. we caught it very early and with some surgery i am happy to say i have been cancer free for 1 year and 4 months now but needless to say, trying to run a business and being in and out of surgery is a difficult thing to so. i also haemorrhaged after one of my surgeries and almost bled to death, but my fiancé stuck by me and helped me keep up the business. the business has now expanded to the point where i am no longer able to handle the volume we are pulling in. i have been stressed out for the past year trying to keep up and have been working 12 - 16 hour days! it finally has gotten to the point where i felt it would be better managed by someone with more experience to help it reach its full potential. we had a meeting last night and closed a deal to sell the company while keeping a share and % of the profit. basically now we just sit back and money come in without having to do very much work!! it feels sooo good. normally at night time i cant sleep because im planning my day and everything i need to do for the business the next day but last night, i slept like a baby! its so rewarding after working so hard and actually having this succeed, grow and pay off. this company has been like my baby, but now that i have sold it, i can concentrate on my real babies...my little yorkie dexter and kitty tommy! lol. im happy, healthy and am on cloud 9 right now! thanks for listening to my long story! |

| Congratulations! That is wonderful and hopefully will be an inspiring story for others who may have doubts that it can work. What kind of business may I ask? I have my own home business and it goes thru stages of being so busy I can't hardly keep up to being so slow I question whether to keep doing it.

| And thank you for asking.... I am considered in remission now, and the surgeries are all resulting from the treatment. It's a scary disease and one I feel I will always worry about returning. It's just wonderful that you were able to rise above this all and accomplish so much. As one poster stated... it really is something for all of us to cheer about! |

i was one of the lucky ones that caught it early enough that i did not need to go through and chemo or chemical treatments at all. i truly believe that a posative atitude can help out sooo much in these sort of situations also! i dont like people to fuss over me, so i didnt tell a lot of my friends until after the fact. they all wondered how i stayed so happy through the entire thing! most had no clue that i was sick or going through a hard time at all! | |
