| ![]() The camera I always use (the Fuji) has a 8.1 mpx and works better than the 10mpx point and shoot camera we have. I was told the higher OPTI zoom you have the better too.

| ![]() I agree Optical Zoom is important. Digital zoom doesn't mean anything. You're better off cropping later.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | ![]() Just as important as the MP (6,8,10, whatever) is the ZOOM. (3x,4x,10x). Back in the spring, I bought a Canon PowerShot A630 for less than $200. It's a 8MP, 4X Zoom. I can buy both a telefoto and zoom lens for it, so there are other options. I had a Canon 35mm for more than 20 years and adored it, so giving up film was hard, but ... I think this is an awesome camera, especially for the money. It also has fantastic battery life (using Energizer 2500 rechargables), is small but not postage-stamp-sized AND it has a viewfinder. (That's very important when you're shooting say fireworks. Here's some of my better shots. |
