Im a bit nervous! Could this be it? I dont want to go into details but I just had something happen that could possibly be one of the things that happens before a person goes into labor. So Im sooooo anxious and nervous!! I dont have any contractions yet and my water hasnt broke so its probobly just nothing and I'm getting excited for no reason. But I have an early morning doctors appointments so we'll see, that is unless something a little more significant happens before then :p. Im excited just thinking it could possibly happen!!!!! |

And as for packing- I really dont even know what all to pack, lol. I started packing a bag a few weeks back out of boredom and anticipation but it doesnt have much in it but baby clothes, lol. How horrible is that? I dont even know what I really should bring  I just figured I'd send my husband home to get whatever we needed to bring. Anyone have any suggestions on what Im supposed to take? |

some hospitals won't allow it, but i always bring my friends lollipops to suck on. again, your mouth gets dry and this helps. the last friend i had that had a baby, the hospital wouldn't let her have the lollipops, they said they didn't want her to choke. but most hospitals say you can have them because they have the stick and are safe. so check with your birthing center. i think they are nice to have on hand. they will give you diapers to use at the hospital, so save yours for when you get home. :) maybe bring a couple of movies to watch??? you will be there a couple of days...so that might be nice. :) |
omg shana!!!! this is so exciting for you, your husband, and well, all of us too! |
Do you have an Ipod or mp3 player with headphones? If you like music that might help. Do you have a pretty photo or something as your focal point during labor? List of amily and friends phone numbers book or magazine if you are a reader...first labor can take awhile toiletries robe and slippers ( you know those gowns don't cover much and you'll want to walk to see the baby and sometimes to help labor) have hubby bring a pillow for himself change for the machines cell phone charger |

I was wondering if you'd go into labor before your chosen date ;) Keep us updated (or someone keep us updated). Hope it all goes well!!! I'm excited for you! |
Sounds like it could be soon. I lost the plug on Sunday at my Baby shower and my cousin who is a nurse said it could be up to 2 weeks until delivery. I was 5 weeks from due date. I had her 2 days later on Tuesday. Keep us posted!! |
I didnt know you were going through all this. Here I am worried about some silly sunglasses. Boy do I feel stupid. I know this sounds strange but take some Always pads. They are big and thin and you will need them. The ones they give you are thick and hard. Take some baby wipes. When I went to change both of my kids in the hosp. We didnt have Baby wipes. They wanted us to use a washcloth. The first potty is like tar and is hard to get off so take the wipes!!!! Dont forget the carseat. LOL |
Sometimes, you get the "bloody show" for a week or two.. I had it 2 weeks before..She came on the due date so it was perfect timing..lol Don't worry though and stay as cool as you can. DEFINITELY have your bag packed!! And no need for "pretty" night gowns/sleep wear..you'll be pretty nasty down there after birth for a few days- you wouldnt wanna ruin your nice robes & gowns.. LOL There's my two cents! |

I am so excited for you! Cherish the moments you will remember them for the rest of your life. Good thoughts coming your way! I think Tess is asking for her passport. |
I'm so excited for you.:) When is your due date? |
Good Luck Shana! i was with my nephews wife on Monday as she was in labor (for 12 hr  ), I'm trying to think of what all they had. - cell phone -she's making the baby a scrapbook, so she brought the page to do his footprints, so the nurses could go ahead and do it whilethey were doing the one for the hospital -clothes and stff for the baby. They forgot his cap, so i had to run to target last min and get a BLUE one. The one their hospital provided was pink and blue and they wanted one that did not have ANY pink on it. -slippers w/ rubber bottoms. her feet kept getting cold, so those were very useful. -something to do. she had a bunch of us to talk to, but would have probably wanted a book or something if we hadn't been there -Camera -Cell phone -Clothes and stuff for you. |

And thank you so much for the advice, Im making my list of things to take :) |
I'll second whoever above said quarters for the machine! I think btwn all of us, we went through at least two rolls. Most of the family did not want to leave for too long, although I did leave awhile to go to Joanns, target, and the mall. But the rest of the family stayed and had lunch and dinner out of those machines. everyone was scared that if they left to eat, the baby would be born. |
