Yahoo!!!! Maybe we will have a early Christmas present!!! I saw Shana this past weekend, and it looked like the baby had dropped. I had not seen her in about 4 weeks and she always carried the baby low, but the baby look lower than usual. |
How exciting!!!!! Any updates???? :) |
:woof: Yeah!!! It does sound like you’re body is preparing for the big day. Spotting can be a sign of separation of the mucus plug or something serious. Please make sure you alert your Obstetrician. Among other things, I am also Certified Doula. And, here is a brief list of things that I suggest that all Mothers pack in their bags for the big day: (Please understand that this list is mainly geared towards Mothers choosing to try natural child birth.) LABORING LIST Chapped Stick or Vaseline Lip Therapy – For those parched, dry lips from breathing Ice Pops, Lollipops and Breath Mints – You will usually not be allowed to eat until after the baby is born and ice chips can get boring FAST Focal point item of Mother’s choice MP3 Player or CD Player with music of Mother’s choice for mental soothing Favorite pillow or body pillow used during third trimester One or two hand held massagers – For relieving lower back pain Microwaveable heating pad – Also temporarily relieves lower back pain Ice pack, water bottle or hand held fan – Mother will switch from being cold one minute to burning hot the next Trail mix, fruit cups, etc. – Quick snacks for Dad or Labor Coach; they need energy too Favorite book, magazine, deck of cards, etc. – Unless Mother arrives at the hospital in active labor, there will be quite a bit of waiting Camera or Camcorder AFTER BIRTH LIST Change of clothes for Dad or Labor Coach – The birthing process IS messy Front Button Night Gown or PJs – For ease of breast feeding Bath Robe Slippers or Socks with treads – Keeps Mother’s feet toasty Sanitary Napkins – The hospital issue is excessively large, bulky and long Hair Brush Comb Toothbrush and Toothpaste Make up Deodorant 3-4 Panties 3-4 Bras – Front flap opening or a size or two larger than your norm at the time of birth – Your breasts will usually increase in size within 24 hours of delivery Breast Pads Going Home - Clothing that Mother wore at or near beginning of second trimester. Mother’s rarely go right back to their pre-pregnancy size upon discharge from the hospital. Baby’s going home clothing Car Seat I’m wishing you a quick, smooth, easy delivery! :love-hug1 |
OMG Shana!! I can't believe I'm just seeing this thread now!!! HOW EXCITING!!! Is it time?? OMG girl I'm so excited for you!!! |
Well nothing more happened last night and I just got back from the doctor. I told him what happened yesterday and he didnt seem very concerned. I asked him why I would bleed and he said I probobly was starting to pass a bit of the mucus plug. I thought for sure he would do an examination to see if I was dialated or anything but he didnt :( Im very dissapointed, I just wish I knew more information, I hate the "waiting game". So if nothing else happens soon it looks like Im still on to be induced December 26th. He did estimate the baby's current weight to be in the low 6lbs today and he thinks she will be about 7 1/2 lbs when she is born. This is all the info I got today:rolleyes: :( . Im a bit bummed out. I didnt get any sleep last night and I have a horrible headache and allergies this morning so Im going to go take a nap. I just wanted to give everyone an update. Thank you all so much for all the positive thoughts youve sent my way. Who knows, the day has just begun and maybe I'll get lucky :p Im so ready for Tess to be here! |
Ohhh good luck shana!!! Getting so close now! :) |

Today stay on sofa with a comfy blanket and comfort food -soup-baked mac and cheese, chinese food . Take a nap while watching TV. When you feel better take a long walk in a mall. Have some junk food Mcdonalds ,Wendys Checkers, Come home take a long shower and eat more and another nap . Tess will be here soon. |
You wait and wait for them to come out, then through the years you wish they never came out in the first place. LOL I love both my kids to death but there are days when I think to myself if I knew then....... LOL |
Yea!!!! I had pains like as if my period was starting so I called my ob/gyn and she said to go to the hospital (5AM) ... they broke my water there ... but after 15 hours of labor, I had an "emergency" c-section and my baby was 11 days early, so check with your doctor. She weighed 8 lbs. 15 oz. I was too little for that. The worse that can happen is you that take a trip to the hospital and come home. Don't bring anything, have your hubby bring the baby's clothes when you check out. Good luck, you look beautiful and everything will be fine. Ice chips ... that is what they will give you ... I am so excited for you .... keep us updated .... OMG! I am so excited ..... really truly .... You are in my thoughts ... |
OMG how exciting. Tess is just not ready yet MOM :p Don't worry she'll come. WE SHOULD START A THREAD ON GUESSING WHAT DAY, AND TIME SHE'LL BE BORN AND HOW MANY LBS. Can I start that thread? |

Oh darn Shana, I thought for sure we were going to get exciting news today. That last little bit of pregnancy time is SO hard! Just try to enjoy being able to nap and she will be here before you know it! |
good luck ... it seems as if they really take their time. what did your doctor say??? |
Oh Darn that doctor for not checking! :p Not that checking brings on labor. But surely you are beginning to soften up in there, so don't worry! Things are starting, they can tend to take their time, and the more effacing and dilating you do before actual labor begins, the better because the less work you will have to do when the real labor starts! |
Hey Shana, My best friend just had a little baby girl 2 weeks ago, her first at 27 years old. When I went to see her I brought a care package of: my old ugg boots ( Warm socks were still too tight and not enough grip!) Aveda lipsaver chapstick, and aveda blue oil. She about cried when I rubbed the blue oil into her shoulders and on her temples, I swear by this stuff! Thats all I know of as I am not a mom ! Just thought I would pass that along. Wishing you a wonderful birthday for your daughter! |

I'll tell you my guess right now as I tend to have bad luck with timing. Im going to guess that if I go into labor early, I'll go into labor either tommorrow while my husband has once in a lifetime floor seats to the Dallas Mavericks game (he got these for his birthday from work and its all he has been talking about for a month now) or if I dont go into labor then, I think it will be Christmas day  And Im gonna guess 7 lbs 2 oz for weight |
