:yay_jump: :yay_jump: :yay_jump: Oh....I'm sooo excited for you!!!! Everyone...calm yourselves!!! Hee...hee...... Oh I can't wait!!! I agree with everyone's lists.......:thumbs_up My water never broke either.......... |
Oh, how exciting! Best wishes and good luck and all that jazz Shana! Did anyone say to take something for your husband to snack on? He'll get hungry depending on how long your labor is. The hospital always says they will have something for them - but don't count on it. Or he may not want to leave you, in which case, snacks in your bag will save his tummy and your sanity! |
With my first, my water broke--not like the big splash, but a slow trickle. But several hours later my labor hadn't really started, so I was induced. Second baby, I woke up 3 am with a funny pain. I had to pee really bad. All that day if I had to pee even a drop, it hurt like there was 5 gallons in there. It did that all day long, and by 10:00pm I started having regular contractions. This is exciting. Let us know when the first one comes, and we'll start timing and send someone to boil water! :p |
Thanks everyone for all the suggestions, Im going to go pack my bag, just in case although Im starting to feel very doubtful it will happen very soon. I just dont think Im going to be that lucky |
Shana so psyched. You definitely dropped your plug and had a bloody show. I think that bag should be packed and ready. The hospital usually suggests only bringing your stuff and then the day your to go home to have hubby bring the baby's going home outfit. Also have him get out the baby car seat and set up the base in the car so you won't be fumbling with it when the time comes. Note that the day he brings you home you have to have the car seat for the baby or the hospital gets a bit snippy. My bag always included: 1) disposable camera 2) comfy pj's (nothing new and expensive because you tend to have a leak at times, make sure the pjs are comfy for nursing if your going to be doing that) 3) Socks and slippers (I am always freezing after I give birth) 4) Your own pads (they give you these damn boats in the hospital) 5) Lotion and your regular toiletries 6) Snacks (sometimes after you labor it's too late when your taken to your room and you feel peckish and can't get a thing to eat, good for hubby too while your laboring) 7) A list of folks you want to contact when your done 8) ****A girdle panty**** I know that this might sound weird to some but every time I have given birth that was a godsend. After delivering with the contractions of the uterus and while nursing you get a lot of cramping. That girdle panty and the snugness feels so good. It also helps to keep your pad in place nicely. I have recommended this to any one else I have known that was ready to give birth and they have told me how much it also helped. 9) Nursing bra (if that applies to you) |
I'm so excited for you, Shana!!! Woohoo!! :) Keep us posted!! |

OMG! When are you due!! How exciting!!!:D Im anxious for you!!!:p |
Make sure hubby knows to wipe the white crude from your lips. Mine forgot and as I was wheeled down the hall I caught a glimps. Oh I coulda died. The only thing that grossed my hubby out was when they broke my water and when I pushed I had a little accident. |
Looking forward to your posts. How exciting! Warmly, Deborah |
I always spotted 12 hours before labor!! I hope this is it, the big day you have been waiting for!!! |
If your spotting I bet you have her within 24-48 hours. Make sure you mention The bleeding to your OB, some bleeding may be caused by the placenta detaching from the uterine wall before or during labr, Are you feeling sick or having lose stools or cramping or any back pain yet? If you start bleeding more just make sure you give your doctor a call. Good Luck hun. |
I just found this on the web. Bleeding during late pregnancy There are several causes for bleeding during late pregnancy. Sometimes bleeding can be a sign of normal labor; however, any time you experience bleeding during pregnancy you should call your doctor right away. Bleeding in late pregnancy can be a sign of problems with the placenta such as placenta previa or placental abruption. So just to be on the safe side let your Dr know. |
whooo hooo! Here comes Princess Tess!!!! |
When are you due? |
OMG.. this is so exciting:) i had my show that morning and had my daughter the next night;) Yahhh let the baby watch begin:p :p cant wait for updates. |
A friend of mine had a baby recently...make sure to bring: -your own toothbrush & toothpaste-hospital stuff is yucky! -your own pads and comfy cotton underwear -a bathrobe -movies to watch -list of phone numbers & your cell charger -a good book -hand lotion and chapstick-she said it's really dry in the hospital |
keeping fingers crossed for you!! |
Congratulations! Wishing you all the best. Can't wait to see your precious little bundle. |
How exciting! Best wishes on a safe delivery and healthy baby! Be sure and take slippers, warm socks, your robe, your own toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, comfortable pjs, change for vending machine, phone numbers, going home outfits for you and Tess. Get your car seat ready. Blanket for Tess going home. You might want a blanket for your stay at the hospital. Movie, book, magazine, etc. and some snacks for your stay. I find hospital food yucky. Don't worry, if you forget something your husband or a family member will take care of it! I am so excited for you! My first baby just turned 16yr today and your post has brought back many memories. GOOD LUCK! |
Oh this is sooooooooo exciting :yay_jump: :yay_jump: Lil' Miss Tess is soon to enter the world. Although it's been many years since I've had my two (they are now 24/26) I still remember it like it was yesterday....what an exciting time for you...treasure every moment of it.... Sending you wishes for a easy/smooth delivery for both you and Tess....God Bless you both... |
Aw hopefully she's coming! Wishing you an easy delivery if it's time!!! I've never been pregnant so I don't know anything, but you must be soo excited for her to come! |
How exciting Shana!Do you by any chance feel energetic.I have three children and it wasnt until I had my second that i realized that we go though what is called a "Nesting Stage" Its our body telling us to get ready for the baby.Im telling you with my second daughter I suddenly had this burst of energy and i spent hours cleaning my house, even after I had just cleaned it the day before.lol.A few hours later bang! there where the contractions. It also happened with my third child.Make sure you keep us posted. |
I also wanted to give you a tip about keeping your focus away from your labor pain..It really helped to focus on one thing in the room.I was told in lamaze class to take a picture and keep focused on the picture while your having the contraction.I forgot to take a picture.(Go figure after all that planning)But I focused on a painting on the wall of a mother holding her baby.I imagined it being mine.It really helped to soothe me.It took my mind of the pain so i felt less of it.I hope you have your baby soon.i know towards the end you just want to finally meet your bundle of joy! |

With all 3 of my boys I lost my plug and had them within 24 hours (hint hint!;)) My water has never broke on it's own either. They had to break it at the hosp. How exciting this is! A new baby on YT, lol!:D |
How exciting for you! I'll keep my fingers crossed that things get moving for you! Good luck to you! If you have What to expect when your expecting they have a great list of things to pack in your hospital bag. |
Oh wow! I just bet little Tess is going to make her appearance sooner than expected! How exciting! With my first, I lost my plug and went into labor about 12 hours later. I don't know if anyone, in giving you ideas of what to take...did anyone say to take your lap top so someone can keep us informed? We'll be going crazy wondering! Big hugs and best wishes to you for a fast and easy delivery! |
So true about the cleaning! Have you been cleaning today Shana? I worked full time with my first son, I was nesting at work! On my last scheduled day of work I was sickened by the bathrooms and was scrubbing them! We had a janitor but apparently i had lost my mind and just didn't think he was doing a good enough job. My water broke the next night and I had my son the next day. Boy was I pissed i didn't get atleast a few days off from work first LOL All I can think of to bring is a hair tie, socks, robe and chapstick. Everything else hubby can run home for later. And unfortunately, take a maternity outfit to wear home. It's a bummer but you will still be retaining a lot of water if not more bloated than before. It takes a while for the tummy to go down. |
OMgosh! How excited am I!?!?! :D |
oohhh how exciting! so maybe Tess will not be born on my birthday... but much earlier!!!??? |
