I had only suggested an attorney if things don't go well with the rental company tommorow. I would make the rental company fax their intentions to you with a signature for your records.

I always like to have a couple of ideas.

Small claims court is an option, one I didn't think about because it usually takes a long time to get a court date (at least here, we had to take a subcontractor to Small Claims and it took 6 months to get a court date and another 6 weeks after that to get reimbursed)

Do you happen to know the owner of the house contact info?You could always call the owner and let them know what is happening with the company representing their rental.

They do have to be Insured and bonded for the type of business they own.

All I know about him is his name because we used to get his mail all of the time..and that he lives in California.

I guess Ill just see how tomorrow goes and take it from there...man I was all worked up earlier today when I found out and now I dont want to make that call..haha I hate confrontation..

Ah Larissa...I hope you have less a confrontation than you expect...remember it's YOUR money.

You can call the clerk of the courts, if necessary, and see what the lead time is...here it is 30 days...if I filed tomorrow...thirty days from that point...I'm in court.

My parents know now..the beat me to it and kinda found out on their own so I had to explain everything to them..

Well..i did it! I called and talked to the owner of the company. She just acted surprised and said she'd call me back when she figures out what happened..so Ill give her until tomorrow morning..if I hear nothing..Ill be calling back!

You know that is a good question! You'd think they would be aware of something like that happening..but then again..they could have just acted surprised with me..who knows!

I just got off the phone with the bank and they refunded my fees! YAY!

Well, she finally called me back and left a message..she said that it was a bank error and that batch of checks were messed up or something..

But she did say that she will be mailing out a new check in the morning! YAY!!

You're telling me! Now I just have to wait for that check to come..Im too impatient for that!

I actually have another transaction that should be posting to my account in the next day or two that was made before the check bounced and Im going to overdraft AGAIN because of it..do you think I should mention this to her tomorrow when I call back to let her know I received her message?
