Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | China's fur industry - what now? Well, I finally did watch the video posted in Sick/Injured - and I had seen most of it before. It is horrific beyond imagination, as expected. What on earth can a person do after seeing something skinned alive? I can donate more money, continue to hope, wipe away the tears, try to clear out some of the images - but mostly I stare at my wall and I wonder "what is inside the beings who perform these acts? what IS it that allows them to LIVE with this????" - and then I'm just left with the images, no answers come that could make any difference. And I feel completely helpless and powerless and frustrated that change will never happen. That humans will never fully realize how inhumane we truly can be (and often are). It just saddens me to my core, and always has - since I was a young, helpless child who immediately understood every young, helpless animal. I don't even know why I'm posting this, I guess I just need to release some feelings after watching that footage. But mostly, I'm wondering - since much of this footage is years old - what has changed? What has really changed? I wish I had my own army, bc this would be my war.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I'm with you girl - our own army and a ton of money - I really wish I knew too....this type of thing has been going on years and years and I don't think much has changed or WILL Change till people stop spending money on NON Necessary things - like FUR It seemed when the big Fur Fuss started going on back years ago that people were waking up - but according to the fashion I see in stores and on tv - fur is thriving and that SUCKS for all these poor tortured animals who are being slaughtered in horrible ways just so someone can make a FREAKING FASHION STATEMENT it's disgusting |

| I hear you. I have also seen some horrific things over the past few years that will haunt me forever. I can't watch anymore, but once I read anything to do with it I immediately see those horrific images which I think is good enough as watching something new. Change starts within us and then by us spreading the word. I don't think the world will change in our lifetime, but I do feel that the good we do benefits tremendously. We will be rewarded and the evil will be punished. I believe that those poor animals that have had to suffer will never suffer again, as once they leave this earth, they will never feel pain like that again, they too will be rewarded. I don't know why this world has to be like this, but I will never be nieve again. Last year Myself and my Friend donated 3 fur coats and a handful of fur accessories to the US Human Society - Coats for Cubs. That was an awesome feeling! I am ashamed that I even purchased fur, but thrilled that they wouldn't go to waste, as they were made into Momma's for orphaned wildlife babies |

| It is really sad that people can be so cruel to animals, but think how cruel they are to people too.

He has always had a heart for the underdog...But that video I think has really opened his eyes......He really gets it now.... What can we do about it....Keep talking to people about it...Letting them see the videos...The more we talk about it- The more we bring it to someone's attention.....the more people will learn.... | My 15 year old son watched this video on My Space. He was very upset, I refused to watch it. He wanted to do the same things to the people who were skinning the animals. I have never seen him so mad at anything in my life. I wish everyone in the world could watch videos like this and maybe cruelty like this would come to a stop. I have seen videos of dogs and cats awaiting slaughter in China that really upset me! I don't even want to get started on that subject. I believe in the end, people that are cruel will get paid back.

| To bad the slaughter of beautiful animals for the pelt only still goes on in this day and age. This includes deer that are only hunted for that trophy antler to be hung above the fireplace. It is so disgusting to kill an animal for only the pelt or the oil from Minks that makes certain grooming products for dogs. And Whales being hunted to extinction for the oil to make perfume. Its hard to believe that Humans are still in the dark ages on some things. |

| I saw a video like that before but of a racoon being skinned alive. At the end it showed a pile of dead, skinned racoons but on the top was a skinned racoon that was still alive and lifted it's head before it died...just like the dog in this video. That video just made me feel sick. The fur industry is absolutely discusting! Why do they have to skin them alive? I don't understand that...why can't they kill them before they skin them? I don't buy things with fur except once when I did accidentally. I saw a sweater I liked at Ross with a little fur trim around the collar...it was SO cheap and I never imagined it would be real fur because of the price and because I just don't normally see real fur anymore (usually fake)...but after I had worn it and was about to wash it I looked at the tag to see how to wash it and it said it had rabbit fur trim I felt bad...but I didn't know.. I will always check to make sure it's fake from now on. I would never buy any real fur intentionally...it's just a discusting industry. I like the look of fur trim on some things, but I like FAKE fur.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Thanks to everyone who shared their thoughts - it's very validating. This hung over me all day - and will for weeks as it always does, like a virus that never really goes away. Then it will come up again whenever triggered by something new. But, as I thought about it all day - and then just now after I read the posts - I DO see an army here. We don't carry guns but we do carry the power to do other things: donate, continue to foster awareness, avoid anything with fur. I am going to try to look at EACH and EVERY label - and do everything I can to not buy from China, period. Easy to say, I know, since practically everything for sale in the U.S. is made in China! Isn't that shameful? Farm everything out to China so we can buy cheap crap that is loaded w/ poisons, toxins, or borne of cruelty. Nice. To answer the horrific question "why are they skinned (de-furred) alive" - it is to preserve the pelt and avoid getting blood on the pelt as much as possible. Which is absolutely horrible, bc it doesn't have to be that way. I do think for that German Shephard - that the man cut his femoral artery first, and I think he may have bled to death first. As for the creature who lifted his head at the end - furless, with bloody lashes - I think that was the grey dog - and he will haunt me forever and I love him and I won't ever forget his suffering. I'm sorry to be graphic, but I wanted to provide the answer.

| I am just in tears thinking about all of this...It's hard for me to believe that this goes on, but it does!!! Every single day Thank you, Wylie's mom for posting this. People will read this thread that never even knew about this. I bought something fur by accident once too...It was about 5 years ago, I never wore it because I read the label and found out it was real rabbit fur What do I do with it? It just makes me sick. The truth is that I'm even afraid to wear faux fur nowadays. Didn't some information come out recently about the fact that they tested some of this "faux" fur and found that some of them actually contained dog and cat hair??

| I know what you mean. I have watched that video before and it really tears at my heart. I read here on YT just a week or so ago someone bragging about the fact that they have fir coats and are not ashamed of it and was absolutely floored than anyone with any kind of compassion for animals could think that way. I cannot fathom how anyone can condone it when THAT is how those same coats are made. And it is very disheartening to know that the only way it will ever stop is for the consumer demand to completely become non-existant and to know that there is nothing anyone could every possibly to to make that happen. |

| i thought about going to all the celebrities websites and posting it when you can make comments and stuff. I mean that may not change a lot but anyone who watches that it has to put some kind of guilt in their minds.
