| My adoptive grandparents love to read. They also love jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, etc. They also love to keep up with current events.

| Donating YT 11K Club Member | Well my grandma is like 70 something and she loves beauty products. She loves lotions, perfume, etc. She also loves these little massagers they sell that are battery operated since she has problems with her back. I think slippers and a warm bathrobe would work too.

| Lovin' 2 Girls Donating Member | As opposed to younger people, who don't like to eat? heheheheh.....I'm sorry. I know this is a sincere suggestion. Just struck me funny - like all we have to look forward to now that we're 'over the hill' is eating . Well, I'm 55 years young, so maybe I can qualify to say I think the gift certificate to a nice restaurant for two would be well received. Also, I love the nice-things-about-you jar idea. Gift baskets are lovely, and so much can be packed in; but, many people (like myself) are allergic to all kinds of frangrances. Yes, even the expen$$ive ones . When I receive something I can't use, it makes me feel a little guilty

| When my Great Grandma was still alive she would love perfumes and powders. Also, she liked pins to put on her sweaters. So on the holidays we would get her like a snowman pin to wear and she thought that was just the neatest thing.

| Thanks every one. I didn't mean to offend the 50+ members. Geez I'm 57 myself soon to be 58 and the only thing I DON't want is "Stuff." There are so many really good suggestions I don't know which to do! LOL I will be making fudge though thank you very much! yum! I've had two of these volunteers for years now. My little man loves to gamble on the boat, my little woman is a real religious person and the young one (who is NOT old) just got a new dog and she is so excited. She will be the easy one. |

You didn't offend me. I was just giving you a hard time. I do the same thing to my husband. I will comment on someone and mention that they are old, and he'll say, "They are only a year older than me!", etc. My husband is 6 years older than I but looks younger so I make that mistake a lot!!

| Me too, I guess once you hit 50 you are old! My mom, who just passed, was 68. She loved skin care products and crazy singing/animated Christmas toys and nightgowns. My dad is 89 and he likes 'warm' things, like heated foot things and electric throws. Hope that helps. I'm 50, not hard to buy for - if it has a yorkie on it, I LOVE it! BTW - this thread has made my day, it made me laugh and that's rare right now! No offense taken at all! Last edited by lidarose; 12-10-2007 at 10:44 AM. Reason: add on |

| Oh my, please don't think I was offended either! Just teasing I think it is sweet of you to actually consider what they really want! I told my kids and my neices and nephews, who are all grown btw, that we have to get actual PRESENTS for each other this year. Last year it seemed we just all swapped gift cards!
