| Have you read Water for Elephants? Has anyone read Water for Elephants? It sounds like and interesting book and has won a few awards but in one review I read that the animals in it were abused. I don't want to read about that in fiction when I read so much about it in real life! Thanks |

| Water For Elephants is a wonderful book. I can't stress just how fantastic it is...I enjoyed it so much. Yes, the animals are abused in some instances and it does tug at your heartstrings, but it is so worth reading, and that certainly isn't the main focus of the book. Do yourself a favor and read this book. You won't regret it. It is definately on my TopTenFOREVER list of favorites - and I read a lot.

| I read it, it was very very good. In fact, I passed it on to my father who also really enjoyed it.

| My grandmother actually passed this book along to me and I loved it! It definitely is unlike any book I've read. Really good. |

| my FAVORITE story!! I love to read and only recently started listening to audible books a couple of years ago as I had to travel more for basketball. I listened to Water For Elephants as an audible book, and it is BY FAR my favorite book (either audible or read) of ALL time. You will come away with a jaded view of the circus (fair warning), but the story is spellbinding. And in the audible version, the reader who does the character as an old man will bring a smile to your face and tears to your eyes. You can picture him in the room right next to you by his voice. It is a love story, an action story, a dramatic story, and a comedy. I finished the book last summer and still to this day often think of the characters. Oh, now I want to go restart it again!!

| This was a very good book!! Do read it! I enjoyed most of it but there is a part where elephants aren't treated well and this part is disturbing. I couldn't wait to pick it up to read a few more chapters and was sad when it was done-

| My view was jaded a long long time ago. I wish everyone knew how these poor circus animals had to live their lives. Especially the elephants. I will definitely pick up the book though. In fact since I like to listen to books in the car I will probably buy it on CD. We ought to start a books on cd swap!!!!! |

A CD exchange sounds like a great idea. I don't buy the books on CD tho. . I belong to Audible Bookclub and load them onto my iPod. (It's only $14.95 a month for the basic plan, and I think you get two books a month.) Even if you don't want to join, I'm sure that you could go to the site and listen to the previews (some readers are somewhat annoying). Memoirs of a Geisha was another great audible book. It was waaaaay better than the movie - another one I was sad when it ended.

| I simply have to get an Ipod! I agree with you about Memoirs of a Geisha. I loved the book - hated the movie. Does anyone thing we could get a forum for book lovers. We could call it the Book Club! How about it Admin. We could exchange CD and books as well. I I had to pay full price for all the books I read I couldn't afford my pups! |
