Hmmmm...I'm not familiar with any poles. The ones our SoCal people use are metal, and we just stand them up and clip them together (I think you get 2 clips per x-pen when you buy them from the store). Is yours maybe soft-sided so it came with poles? Maybe bring them if they're not too cumbersome, and if we don't need them, we just won't use them? I can't say since I'm not familiar with them . What does everyone else think?

I have a metal one.. but it came with some kind of poles.. they're still in the box, though.. lol... I guess they're just if someone wants to keep the pen out for a long time that'd be my guess.. so the wind doesn't collapse it

I signed up to bring 2 xpens....... and can bring more if needed. I think it will be great to have them all hooked together....... but something to think about...... at a meet up that I attended, there were some "unaltered" yorkies (not spayed or neutered) that we may have to consider. We had a separate pen area for the "BOYS")
Shelby & Seymour have both had surgery which isn't a problem for us..... but it may be for others!!

...... if we are going to do a "gift" game or exchange, can I suggest that an amount to spend is decided? (that way there isn't $5 gifts for some and $50 for others)

Just curious, what is the reason behind having a separate area for unaltered boys?

in case there are un-altered girls!!.... We had a little boy that was getting "frisky" with a few of the younger (not old enough to be spayed yet) girls.

Kayah isn't spayed.. but her last heat was in January.. so it won't be a problem.

....... we didn't have any "unplanned pregnancies"....... but I really think that is something we need to consider..... unless you all think that I am "thinking too much".

I woulldn't want them to be in a seperate area either.
At the YF last year there was this one male that just wouldn't leave the females alone. Kayah was in heat.. so she stayed in my arms the whole time.

I'd say as long as someone isn't being "annoying" they should stay with all the dogs

I know 24" is high enough so that our babies don't get out but what about other dogs at the dog park wanting to get in.

The X-pen I had was 36in (hopefully getting it back...). Lacy can actually scale it so 24in wouldn't work so well I don't think. I'd buy the 36in if I were you

mine is the metal one that folds out..
