| You could make peppermint bark and put it in nice containers. If you google it I'm sure you'll find a ton of recipes.

| A salt scrub made with kosher salt and oil mixed with a fragranced one. Or a sugar scrub, same premise as the salt. I think you can also make one with oats.

| Get some nice paper and cut it into small stripes. On each stripe of paper write a memory (something funny, a vacation, an inside joke, etc.) of the person you are making the gift for. Make a whole bunch of them and put them in a nice container. You could also found them in half and punch a hole through both layers and tie it closed with ribbon. I did this for my mom one mother's year probably 5 or more years ago and she still says how it has been her favorite gift ever.

| I'm making either a cookie/cake mix to put in jars, the ones where you can see each level of it? And then I'm going to add a lil card for the instructions and also a pot holder. Should cost probably a couple bucks per jar.

| check out www.chex.com and they have TONS of chex mix recipes. The margarita one is my absolute favorite. I leave out the tequila and just put in extra lime. My family always loves it. Our other faves are the ranch (you don't even have to cook that one!), the regular one, hot and spicy, The Lemonade one and the BBQ one did not go over well at all.

| I am not crafty enough for gifts but love food gifts and they are CHEAP!1.homeade fudge in a tin 1st wrapped in festive cellophane.2.5 layer bars, again wrapped in celophane on a paper or plastic plate with a bow! now,shhh...heres my secret and everyone thinks i am a genious.haha I cook but not so good in the baking dept. For the fudge, the recipe is a no fail and is on the back of the large container of marshmallow fluff and I add pecans. For the 5 layer bars I used to use the recipe on the back of the eagle brand condensed milk but this year you can by the kit in the box by eagle brand, yay,in the brownie section, YT pals! I am on a fixed income so these are easy and affordable for me and welcome gifts for friends and the kicker is they think I cooked my butt off! heehee Last edited by vviccles1; 11-23-2007 at 09:12 PM. |
