She's the cutest, sweetest, thing ever. She just lays there being cute. No one has called, we put up fliers everywhere and an ad in the paper, checked with both shelters and people that breed shelties and the local vet. She loves to play with roxy and remi. I know she has a good home somewhere she still smells like nice shampoo, has a haircut and her nails trimmed. We don't know what else to do.

aww poor thing i bet shes wondering where her mommy and daddy are .sure hope some one claims her she is a pretty sheltie. i bet her owners are worried sick about her .you are so nice for taking her in and placing the ad and putting up fliers.

I would think her family is frantic about her. She is sooo well behaved. She doesn't know what a toy is, nor does she seem to eat treats. She didn't know how to eat dry dog food but sure knows what a can of dog food is:D . She loves to be held and continually gives kisses. We took her out back to play and she loved it. She and the pups chased each other and she seems to keep herding everyone into the center of the yard. I don't know if it's a sheltie thing or not, but she sounds like she is humming when she is running and herding. She only barks when the pups bark and she is the quietest barker of them all. She loves to just curl up and lay beside us. She's with us until we can find her family. She likes to watch tv,and ride in the car so we are thinking she may belong to an older person. Especially since she has no interest in toys. We won't give up looking, tho. I know how we would feel if one of ours went missing. She has totally attached herself to Krysten. AND she's housebroken!:thumbup:

Awww:wub: She is soooo sweet!!!! :justahug: I just want to give her a great big ol' hug!!! I hope you find her owners, but if not, she looks like she will be a wonderful addition to the family!!!

Ahhhh she is so beautiful, Her owners are prbably going crazy, Iam happy you have her, praying her family will reunite with her.

Ohhhhh....I bet someone is really missing her!!!! But it sounds like you have done so much to find her owners!!!! I am not sure what else you can do!! Keep us posted!!!

oh she's so cute. Wonder if her owners have gone out of town for the holiday & someone else was watching her & she got away. Hope you find her home soon

ah, she is so pretty!! poor thing. thankfully you are giving her a safe place until her family finds her. if they find her.

Checking for a microchip is a good idea, also I know you can list found dogs on www.petfinder.com w/ a description (no picture). I hope her family finds her soon and I know they'll be glad that you were the one to find her since you're taking such good care of her.

She is beautiful and so blessed to have found your family. Especially now when it's beginning to get so cold and wet. You have a good heart to take her in like this. We know what she's giving Thanks for tomorrow.

What a cute little thing she is! How lucky that she found your family. I think lost dogs can tell when they've wandered by a house that is full of animal lovers. :) I feel so bad for whoever is missing her, because it sounds like she is very well loved by someone. Have you tried posting online? Good luck!

Sadly, when we took her to the vet, he said no micro-chip. We have checked with local sheltie breeders who may have placed her but no luck there. We put posters everyplace possible in the area she was found and have also put them in local stores. An ad will appear in the paper on Friday. The area she was found is not a "better" area so I'm not sure she lives there. The vet said she was an expensive dog. She has been groomed. And we checked with the local pet store and groomer. We love her to death, so I know somewhere there must be a family in tears. Oh, and she loves to dance:) .She is definitely a Blue Merle Sheltie. Any other ideas anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated. Also, we put a collar on her so we could walk her and she was totally at ease with it and with the leash - no tugging.

Have you tried posting to Veterinary offices in your area? Super Markets, Pizza shops, library?

wow how beautiful! I sure hope that this baby finds her family... they must be frantic and will surely BLESS you for taking good care of her.

Maybe somebody was visiting their family and the dog got away and didn't know the area to find their way back. It happens a lot during the holidays. She is lucky you found her.

you're amazing for trying so hard to reunite her with her owners, she's a pretty girl. if you said that she was found in one of the worse places in your area, is there any way she may have been stolen and brought over there in order to be resold or something, only to run away?

Posted in stores, on poles, in front of the police station, at the vet's, the shelter, everywhere we could think of.

We thought of that, and that someone may have lost her traveling. The area isn't that bad, it's just an area that is mainly less "affluent". There are a few nicer homes there and we posted around the entire area. It's possible she was stolen and ran away. She was extremely clean and smelled like she had been bathed recently. Her fur was clean so she hadn't been running. Her ears are immaculate inside and her nails are clipped. Her hair has been trimmed, too. When my dtr stopped her car, she ran right to her and jumped into her arms. But she didn't really act scared - at least not like she had been mistreated or anything. She is very friendly to everyone. She didn't know what the cats were. Any of the noises around here(outside dogs barking, kids in the street, loud vehicles, etc. don't seem to bother her). She isn't the least excitable. She is a lap dog. She rolls over on her back, so she is very trusting. I am at a loss.

I checked the missing pets ads on Petfinder, but didn't see one that matched her descriptiong, but you may want to check it again later on to see if maybe someone has posted something.

Also, did you put a photo on the FOUND ads? If so I would be very cautious to anyone calling saying she is theres. Usually if you find a pet the best thing to do is put as little description as possible, and then if someone calls have them to describe her so you know they are the proper owners.

Thanks, I'll keep checking. No, we didn't include a picture, nor did we put the sex or type of dog. There's no way, with her being as friendly as she is, that I will risk someone other than her own family taking her. She goes to anyone. Anyone that calls will have to identify her. She has a small cut on her nose that may or may not have been there before she was lost. It's clean but I can't tell how old it is. I will protect this little girl from any harm.

I hope she gets to reunite with her family before the holidays..they must be so sad..it hasnt been long so there is still tons of hope!!
