Ooh I love radiant shimmery skin LOL :) i'm going to have to try all this stuff out! is it available on their website? or is it cheaper if i just go to a sephora or something like that? (the clear radiance that is)

I bought it at Ulta - I think Sephora has all the makeup too.

For the person who asked about the starter eye makeup kit - I'm not sure what that is, but I have a bazillion eye shadows and I love almost all of them. Do get the bisque and DO use it under the eye shadow, it really makes a big difference. Don't be scared of the shimmer in the eye shadow - I'm a 56 year old g'ma and I wear them all the time, and they don't look silly on me at all. My 85 year old mom wears them too. You just have to be sure to use a light touch and not overdo. BUT if you want a dramatic effect, then GO FOR IT!

One of my favorite eye shadows is 1980 - YUM!

Bare Minerals makeup is the BEST!

xtine 12-22-2007 10:01 PM

Thanks :) I'm going to be getting that next payday woohoo! :)

I have to give the bare minerals a thumbs up. I have been using it for a few months now thanks to a friend sharing them with me while we were bunking together for a few days...she gave me some starter products and I really liked them and have been using ever since. I use the medium beige foundation and the mineral veil is the finishing touch. I always felt I had to use my fingers to apply foundation but with the bare minerals they glide on with a natural brush. I was skeptical about how the coverage would be at first, but once I tried it I was pleased. I will use the foundation with a different light weight powder sometimes. I like them best when it's warm outside because they feel better and are a "lightweight" way to have some makeup on while doing out door activities, and not feeling like a "base face" in the sun. I haven't used the lips or eye products yet so I can't give any reviews on them...but can say that they look great on my friend.

Is there a difference between Bare Minerals and Bare Essentials?? Is it the same thing or is one better than the other?

Bare Esscentials is the parent brand and Bare Minerals is one fo their line of products. You'll also find some other hair and body products under the Bare Esscentials name.

On another note, I got the gold collection (comes in a red snakeskin box).. it comes with mineral veil, gossamer, a blush, 2 shadows and a liner shadow and also 3 brushes. My grandmother bought it off QVC.. anyone else have it? I;ve used it the past 3 days and I love it! I highly recommend trying it. I'll get the actual name of it when I get home :)

There are several radiances. There is clear, bare, warm, pure, rose, tropical, soft focus glee, soft focus true just to name some of them. I use the bare for all over face and I use the rose for weekdays as a blush. I love the featherlight mineral veil too.

Here you go Rare Minerals is on top and bare minerals is further down on the page. For other products of Bare Essentials go to beauty on one of the top lines and go from there

Sounds like the one sold on the BE website except it includes a compact. It is $75.00. I got it for my friend for an early Christmas and she said she will never wear anything else...

The only thing I don't like about ordering online is, I wasn't really sure on the "color" I should get. I went with the beige/medium
I hope it works for me. :animal-pa

I'm pretty sure you can exchange it if the color doesn't work for you - it says most people use that color. I am really fair and have blond hair and I bought the light kit from Ulta, but it was too dark (I am a freak!) they let me return it and I ordered the fair kit online - I think it was a better deal it was $60 plus shipping, but I got full size containers of everything - the one from Ulta gave mini size of the warmth and glee

I'm glad to see this thread! I've been wanting to try it, but I thought it looked too difficult to apply. I see today that QVC has a beauty show on at 11am PT. I have no idea what color I would need though. I currently use Ivory Bisque from Clinique.

crystalsmom 12-29-2007 07:49 AM

I went to JCPenny website and that really is a good buy and no shipping charge. There is another product I got as a gift this Christmas that I just love not from Bare Essentials but you can get it from QVC and JCPenny. Amazing Grace Body Lotion

http://www.sephora.com/browse/produc...dPaginate=true

Now I know why they say never get a store credit card and just use your visa or master card......Pennys is 21+% EEEEEK

I would probably get the fair kit or the light - I use Ivory, but the light kit was too dark for me - the fairly light shade was very very yellow - when I put it on I had a yellow-orange streak on my face and I am fair, but didn't think I was that fair - I have blond hair, but brown eyes so I'm light, but now I joke that I'm freakishly light b/c I had to order the fair kit - I couldn't buy it in the store

I've been using BE forever and read on another thread about the Loreal verson so I went out and got some this weekend and I'm a hard sell, cuz I LOVE BE, but you know, the Loreal one isn't too bad. I'm going to give it a shot. So far its pretty ok! And for around only $9, its way less expensive. So I'm going to keep using it and see how it goes. But after 2 uses so far I like it! Just thought I'd share!

You can also try them for free at Sephora or Ulta. They can even match you to the correct shade. And if you ask, they'll give you samples so you can take it home, try it out, and see if you like it. :) I definately recommend it. I turned my mom onto it and if she can apply it, you definately can!

pepe mint 01-05-2008 04:05 PM

I just bought my first set too. I had them put some one me at the spa and I really liked it. so I am anxious to start using it at home. I am glad to hear that so many of you love it!! because it is not cheap LOL

patty58 01-05-2008 05:23 PM

I'm going to Ulta next week and give it a try. I don't know what shade to get so thought in person they would help me.

RowdysMom 01-06-2008 07:55 PM

I stopped by Ulta to get some hair products today. When I walked in there was a big Bare Minerals display right by the front door. I stopped to look at it and saw the Prime Time foundation prep. I remember on YT someone saying it was really nice so I bought a bottle.

OMG! It is FABULOUS! It makes my face feel like spun silk! I really love it. If you haven't tried it, DO! It is GREAT!

I'm definitely going to give it a try. Do it wear it under the skin rever-upper (I think that's what it's called)?

RowdysMom 01-07-2008 11:46 AM

I don't know about wearing it under or over the rever upper??? It says that it is to go under your foundation, so I guess it would be the last thing to go on before foundation.....

So I would rev up first, then prime time, then foundation, I guess.......
