I loved this! Because I am a "Kill 'em with Kindness" girl -- boy that really gets to people too. Maybe you could offer them some of your children's slightly used items you might donate to Goodwill or something.

While I certainly laughed at what your MIL said - while it might have ben a bit crass, she does have a point, these gals are not worth your time. Do not feel guilty for handling your money well, regardless of how much or how little you have. Just being able to budget is a skill so many lack & it's evident that these gals are missing that & the brains to figure out the cigarettes don't benefit their children in any shape or form.

you do not need to feel guilty at all. why should you feel guilty because someone who is too lazy to work and make their own money to put clothes on their childrens' backs? thats their own problem, anyone can get a job. Its so funny that people have nothing better to do with their time sometimes than talk about other people, it kills me lol.

Well, I wish I had as much free time as they seem to have. I certainly wouldn't waste it sitting in a cafe and gossiping about something that's none of my business. People really are ridiculously rude sometimes. They're just jealous. You did the right thing by ignoring them.

I agree, sometimes it is hard NOT to say things when one is so rude! People should not say thing like that, how do they know if you and your family do not give to charity. Do not let them bring you down for dressing your girl up! I think the doggies look so cute dressed up. I have gotten Jeter a lot of shirts and hoodies for when he comes home.
