Your Favorite Toys from Childhood that are not around any more. 1 Attachment(s) With a 5 year old Nephew and 11 year old neice, I was thinking of what to get them and you know what I wanted? A toy I used to LOVE that is not made anymore... Remember the Inch Worm? The one you ride? You bounce up and down on it and it to make it move. Do you have a favorite toy that's not around anymore? What is it? |
I'm not sure if they are still around, but I loved my Glo Worm! :) |
A lot of the dolls i had are not around anymore, i still have some i saved. I had a lot of old games but i cant remember the names of them right now. |
I had an Alf doll and a Teddy Ruxpin (sp). I remember playing with Polly Pockets and I had a Littlest Pet Shop van. I loved my Barbies too. My fave toy wasn't anything popular. It was just a stuffed dog. I called him Oscar. I carried that thing everywhere. :) |
I'm in my 40's. When I was buying a present for my 1 year old great-nephew, I found a section at Toys R Us that had a selection of "retro" toys. They had a wooden bear that was a pull toy that played the xylophone while being pulled, a wooden slinky pull dog, a "TV" that scrolled pictures when you would it up and a musical telephone. There were several of us in the aisle just getting lost in our memories of these toys. I bought the pull bear, although I figure that it wouldn't compare to the other toys he got, but I didn't care. (I wondered if toddlers would even recognize the phone shape - there aren't many phones that shape these days.) But it was so much fun!!! |
Dolls, dolls and more dolls. Baby dolls, to Barbie Dolls and full-size dolls. -lol - I guess dolls will never go out of style, but I still wanted a doll when I was 12 - girls today are too into boys, cell phones & Ipods at that age |
1 Attachment(s) Ok i found one toy that i looved. It's called Don't break the ice. I used to have this as a kid and me and my brother used to play on weekends. So fun! idk if they make it anymore. If i find more toys i will post them. |

Ok.. this is really going to "date" me but.. I loved my Chatty Kathy Doll and my Kissy Doll.. not to mention my Patty Play Pal. Then there's Tressy.. oh so many dolls and you can never leave out Barbie. I had a Barbie Doll the first year they came out... Tiny Tear.. etc.. etc.. I loved dolls |
I had one of those ride on inch worms! That was one of my favorite toys! Teddy ruxpin was my other favorite. I've started collecting all the 80s TR stuff off eBay so I can have it around for my kids (if i ever have any). I was a nerdy little kid, I really preferred my books (which I stll have a TON of), puzzles, and art stuff... and playng out in the backyard with the dogs. |
Mine was a little red spinning wheel. It looked like a real one but only knitted tubes of yarn,I loved it |

Yep, they are :) I got one when I was 18. I had been wanting one forever, but my mom never got me one when I was little because they're too expensive for a childs toy. lol. I was lucky too... the one I got was a #10 out of only a limited amount. :)...and now she sits in my mom's house. lol |
I loved Don't Break the Ice too! I also LOVED my Heart to Heart bear, my Popples, and my Munchichi :D |

They remade Baby Alive too. My 4 yr old has one. Now she's like a robot. You don't have to pump that thing on her back like you had to do the one I had. Do you remember Kitchen Littles? Omg I had ALL of the Kitchen Littles stuff and my DH accidently threw it out when we moved into this house. Made me so mad! |

My Little Ponies...I was so happy when they made a come back and my kid loved them. I think she has every one that came out. I still have all of mine. Let's see...didn't play Barbie much, but I liked this cartoon called Jem and had some of those dolls...a bit bigger than Barbie. Rainbow Bright, Shrinky Dinks....I LOVED Shrinky Dinks! I said something about the Smurfs the other day and my kid was like, "What are the Smurfs." I started laughing and said, "You don't know what the Smurfs are!?" Then I sat thinking for a second...."GASP...you don't know what the Surfs are!" |

1 Attachment(s) I had every strawberry shortcake doll they made and all the little toys to go with them! Its funny cuz it was actually my mom who just thought they were the cutest thing so I had a canopy bed with strawberry shortcake and a pink rug and green walls LOL And all the toys to go with it! They smelled really good! But does anyone remember the pogo ball? My brothers and I used to jump up & down our driveway on them all day everyday for hours on end! HAHAHAHA I guess they do still sell them though! I didnt know! |
I had a pogo ball. My was green and purple. Two weeks after I got it I broke my wrist when I fell off it and my mom threw it away. :( My entire bedroom was decorated in Rainbrow Brite when I was 9. Omgosh I forgot about Jem! I LOVED her cartoon and I had the doll too. Did yours come with a cassette tape too? I remember dancing with my friends on my bed singing at the top of our lungs, "Truly truly truly outrageous! Yeah!" I STILL like Strawberry Shortcake! I wish my daughters did. My 4 year old does love My Little Pony though. I had a big castle and things to go with mine. I haven't seen that again. Now they have "Ponyville" and its tiny. |
I had a doll that I adored...it was a "Chrissy" doll and she was rather large, vinyl chubby body with moving arms and legs and had dark red hair with a string on her back that made her pony tail grow short. I loved her. My grandmother got her for me in the early 70's. Someone in my distant family has ended up with her because she was being stored at a close relatives house on display on a bed in an extra bedroom where my grandma was living at the time. When my close relative passed away suddenly, the "vultures" were all in the house and my doll disappeared. It was very unfortunate that it had to happen that way. I've searched around from time to time to try to find another but haven't had much luck. It would never be the same as having my original anyway I guess. |
1 Attachment(s) This is what she looked like although mine had a different outfit. |
I was born in '86 so must my mom toys are still around, I believe. :p Pogs, Littlest Pet Shop, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, a boy cabbage patch doll, Ty beanie baby. I had this other thing I loved that was a robot that you put tapes in that told you (I think) history-type things. |
1 Attachment(s) I was just talking to my sister and she reminded me of Marvel the Mustang, her favorite toy.....until she fell over Marvel and the front foot peg went down her throat and gave her a partial tonsilectomy. She still has Marvel...somewhere. My favorite was my roller skates and key & my basketball. |
