| Seems like the entire situation was more dramatic than it needed to be. I don't get "Goodbye YT" threads, especially if you don't actually leave, haha.

| i have been in touch with dena through email and she told me to tell you guys that your stuff will be out over the next week or so. she said she feels that rehoming is the best sine she doesnt have the funds for nat. I told her that since she showed proof (xray, met up with angie(rustys mom) and posted a pic and you could see nats blue ears) then i said that after that the fund could have continued. but everything had already escaladed if there is anything you guys want me to tell her i will tell her for yall

| Sorry....something else just hit me too.....and Archie, it tears me up (as I think it does most members here) to see any animal suffering and not be able to receive the care they need. Even if you THINK you're prepared for whatever might possibly happen to a pet, I don't think most people are prepared for something as catastrophic as in Natalie's case. Kind of like if, after thinking you can afford to have a child and believing you've made the best of provisions, the child needs a heart transplant; or gets some type of cancer. The bills can be ASTRONOMICAL, and with vet care, it's not as well-represented and I don't think there's as much service capping, so they basically have you over a barrel; they can and will, charge you whatever they want to. Some things you just can't plan for. I'm not taking umbrage with you; I'm just trying to point out some things that we should keep in mind. Not everybody has unlimited funds and most people operate on a budget of some sort. Setting aside a "slush fund" for your pet is a great idea, but when it can run into the thousands and thousands of dollars, and you need to know NOW if and how you can pay for the care, well, some people just aren't equipped to come up with that large of a sum at the drop of a hat. I would think that your mind goes into the "fight or flight" response at that point. I hope I NEVER have to sit in an Emergency Vet Clinic again and hear the front office staff ask someone who can't instantaneously come up with an extra $1000 for treatment for their pet "well, do you want us to put her down then?"..... . How would they feel if they brought their child into the ER and couldn't come up with the few thousand it costs immediately and the Dr. asked "well, would you like us to put her down?". Perspective, perspective, I know...but walk a mile in the other peson's shoes; your perspective changes!

And isn't it a little odd to be desperately trying to get medical help for a beloved pet like Natalie, no matter what, and then do such a 180 and state that you are just going to rehome her (and her sister). I hope Natalie gets taken care of , whatever her needs are... I'm just saying...

I know exactally what your talking about. I sat in the ER and thought Buddy was going to die two years ago, all unexpectally. The cost was $2,200.00 I live on a budget, am widowed and paniced. Believe me but was so thankful he pulled through. I took the money out of my pension, paid a large penilty and will work an additonal two years to get it back. So I do no what it is like to have the unexpected illness hit you. You find a way somehow but you do. I hope Dena finds a way when she gives it more thought and does not re-home Natalie. Natalie needs her.

If she is truly going to rehome the girls, she should return Grace to the home she came from. I am sure that the original Mom would want her back to be able to place her herself in a home that she feels most comfortable with. And Natalie, being that she is so sick and needs Specialist Care, she should truly start to contact Yorkie Rescues, as they would be the BEST bet in being able to get Nat the care that she needs. Tell her this please. Tell her that I don't mean to sound mean, but these are my suggestions and these are suggestions coming from putting Natalie and Grace first and foremost. I hope everything works out for Nat. But I really do feel that if Dena can't provide for Natalie, than Natalie's BEST chance at surviving life is through the help of Yorkie Rescues. Tell her they are all in my prayers.

I just wanted to say that I was making suggestions based on Natalie and Grace. Ya know? If I were Gracie's first Mom - I'd want her back, I'd want to be the one to 'rehome' her (again). And I am really 'into' Yorkie Rescue and they do put the Yorkie's needs first. I suggested that b/c 'if' Dena truly can not financially take care of little Nat's needs, well then, a Yorkie Rescue might be Natalie's only place of help. Again, I hope that what I am saying is not mean, it's not meant to be at all. It's just the reality - at least how I happen to see it. Again, I want nothing more than the very BEST for the little girls and for Dena. Always in my prayers

For the record, it wasn't MY pet that the ER wanted to put to sleep, I just happened to be there with Max and overheard it and was absolutely dumbfounded that they'd take such a cavalier attitude...not "let's see how we can work with you"; it just struck me as so mercenary and heartless. Which is NOT the feeling I want when I'm dealing with a sick helpless pet! (This is really a whole other issue). I don't understand the rehoming either...maybe she's just feeling overwhelmed right now with everything and all the negativity that's been associated with it. I would imagine that when it all first started and a lot of people jumped on the bandwagon to help her, then it kind of grew and grew, then some people started questioning everything, which took on a life of IT'S own; it probably really brought her down and made her question whether she was a good mama or not. At least, I think that's how I'D feel if it were me. You know, how everything is so stressful and you're so worried, but it seems like you've got all this support to help you thru, and everyone's being so nice and on your side; so you think you can handle it and then all of a sudden, your worthiness is brought into question and you're being vilified by some people. When you're under a lot of stress and haven't had much sleep, things get blown out of proportion and seem much more sinister than they really are. Txgrl~ I know, nobody was denying her help, and just wanted a little bit of reassurance, but you're right; things just got so chaotic that it went very sour. Such a shame. I know there's a lot of very nice, caring and trusting souls here who are willing to help anyone in need. And Kyle~ Yes, there was a little more drama than normal, but you know how momentum and no sleep go together? NOT. Making light of someone's pain is NOT cool either. I know that's not the kind of person you are.
