| Yorkietalk promoting puppy mills? You posted a link to a well known and poorly regarded puppy mill reseller? |

Personally, I don't see her remark as being snide! LOTS of people don't have the money to buy a yorkie. And THAT my friend is exactly what keeps puppy mills in business. Advertising a link to a puppymill is just SO WRONG in so many ways. Sorry.

| I know you meant well, but putting money in the pockets of these brokers just keeps them in business. As hard as it may be, never buy from a broker, puppy mill or backyard breeder. That is the only way that these people will stop exploiting helpless dogs. |

| I don't think anyone was trying to be snide. It is hard when you see a puppy you know is living in a horrible situation. I have been tempted to rescue a pet shop puppy many times. It is hard to look at their sad faces in those tiny cages. But like Ladymom said, we cannot contribute to the problem. I looked at the page with available Yorkies from that breeder the OP linked, and it is very sad! Some barely resemble Yorkies other than color. As sad as it is to walk away from the puppies who are not to blame -- that is what we have to do. Those greeders will not stop as long as the money comes in. If everyone stops buying, they will find another way to make a living. That is what we really want to see! Instead of giving the money to the puppymill, greeder, etc.. donate to a Yorkie rescue, look into adopting a rescued puppy, or find a way to legally shut down one of the mills! Buying from one of these unethical breeders saves one dog..... but puts how many more at risk? But believe me, I do understand the initial reaction to want to save that one.

Thank you !!! And I did donate to Yorkie Rescue Inc for Emerson in Taunton Ma and I did just go to a Benefit for them this past weekend!! I have a very very soft heart and seeing these pups breaks my heart.. I do NOT go into to petland stores just for that reason It kills me to leave them there when they are soo poorly taken care of!! It makes me feel aweful!!! | |

| It's an impossible situation for anyone that truly loves dogs. Sure it's wrong to support the evil creeps that make their money this way. OTOH...each of these sorry, pathetic little pups has only ONE life...and it's being lived in misery. It's also wrong to leave them to suffer. These places need to be shut down and the pups seized. Until that day comes...who looks out for them? Do we just leave them to rot because we abhor their situation? I wish I had a good answer.
