| Floppy Ears Hi- I have a 13 week old male yorkie and at about 9 1/2 weeks old his ears stood up beautifully for about a week and then fell again and haven't stood up again. My vet said if they haven't stood up soon he would put a drop of glue and mash the ear together and by the time the glue wore off the ears should be standing. I have made an appointment for this week to have that done. Has anyone else had a puppy to have ears that did this. I love my little one very much and no matter what will love him but when you buy a certain breed of dog you want them to look like that breed and some people have told me to leave them alone and let them flop I should accept him as he is but I really want them to stand if I can do so without causing him pain. Let me know if any of you have had this type of experience? Did it end well? Joyce Ann Davis |

| teething can cause ears to flop back over! eventually if you massage them and keep them shaved down they will go up! Let your vet do the glue thing a lot of people on here tape, glue, ect. their dogs ears! |

| Thanks for info So there is still hope. I appreciate your information. I have never had a yorkie puppy before - I got my other yorkie when he was 4 years old so puppies are new to me. Thank you for answering. |

| I'd trust my vet, but ask him if there will be any pain involved. I've always taped my son's pits, and didn't even like doing that, because when you take the tape off it tends to hurt them. Maybe gluing is a new less invasive way of treating the ears. Best wishes to you.

| My vet said that giving a little cottage cheese helps too. I forgot to add that to my other post. |

| Floppy but adorable My Joey has floppy ears. I love them. The groomer asked me if I wanted them to stand up meaning that they only had to cut around the ear to allow them to stand up. I also heard that if they dont in the first couple of months they wont. I wasnt told to cut them around the ear to do that so I didnt do it and I love the way they are. Joey wont be a stud or a show dog, I just wanted a little sweetheart to cuddle and watch frolic with the leaves as they blow and watch those little ears flop as he runs. Although I like them floppy, I hope you find a way to get them the way you want. You are you and deserve to be happy with your dog. My joey will be 2 next February. Recovering great from knee surgery. I will be the next to have surgery again, so that will be a main focus if you dont hear from me and Joey. We will come back as time and comfort allows. Happy Pups Everyone.
