| We also had that problem when our Zuzi was about 4-6 months baby. We patiently explained to her that this is a bad thing in a way that she understands she has done something wrong. With the time (probably a month or two) she stopped doing that and never saw her again doing it. Now she has another favorite thing - we were hiking on Saturday and I turned back to see if Zuzi is following me. Then I saw her rolling over a caw poop Thank God it was kind of old |

| Eating poop is common. Max does it. I buy frozen pineapple and feed it to both of them. There is some kind of enzyme in it that makes the poop not as attractive. It definitely works but if I stop giving them the pineapple a week later he starts again. There is also a powder I have seen members mention that you sprinkle on their food that will also make the poop not seem like a treat.

| I'm not aware that my late little one had this issue, but have seen several posts on YorkieTalk by others dealing with this problem. Here's a thread titled, "S.E.P. (Stop Eating Poop) Works!" dated 2007 by mdcote: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...oop-works.html A web-based article on Cesar's Way titled "Dog eating feces" suggests a couple of reasons why dogs may do this including a "misguided attempt to clean" yard or kennel or dietary/malnourishment issues. (Link follows.) The doc responding refers to the behavior as "coprophagia"; suggest you first talk to your vet and rule out a medical basis for the problem. Article goes on to say that food additives (refers to Adolph's meat tenderizer and "For-bid") work only some of the time. Doc suggests topping some poop with hot sauce (I assume a VERY little). "After a bite or two, most dogs will decide it isn't worth it." https://www.cesarsway.com/dog-care/n...g-eating-feces Have separately seen folks suggest adding a little pineapple to the food. Suspect I'd try the pineapple or Adolphs, even commercially available products (SEP, For-bid) before trying the hot sauce. |

| My kid poops out doors with me watching him, so I pick it up as soon as it comes out, however, if I should turn my head he will eat his poop. I tried the frozen pineapple for 2 months, gave him one chunk cut up right after he ate in the mornings (he's 12 pounds). For the first month I made sure to not turn my head and picked up his poop right away, into the 2nd month I stepped away from him to see what he would do, he ate his poop. I continued with the pineapple until the bag was finished, that was 2 months of pineapple, I tested again, he ate his poo. Pineapple does not work on every dog, but it is a start and they enjoy the fruit.

Casie looooves poop. I once caught her eating Scottie's poop, while he was still pooping! Think she caught it while it was being produced. She's SO gross! Oddly though, I recently noticed that Scottie likes to hike his leg up and pee on her bum when she's not looking! They're so weird. Like you, I always have to keep a very close eye on them.
