| Question I have a 1-1/2 old Yorkie. I got her fixed when she was a little over a year old, ever since then she hasn't been the same. Used to before she got fixed she would lay around, sleep on the couch (day and night) and could care less about anything. She would play all the time and she loved to go places. Now, since being fixed, she is spastic!!! Whenever she see's us put on shoes she goes crazy. She is crate trained and saying she is obsessed with her crate would be an understatment. Example - at night I usually always go to be around 9. Well, it's like she has an alarm that goes off in her head telling her it's time to go to bed. And until we all go to bed she will run around the house whining. Sometimes she gets so worked up that she has a accident in the house. She wants in her crate at all times. I know they say that they feel this is a "safe" place for them, but she used to not be like this. Is there anything I can do? I've tried taking up the crate, coaxing her out of it with treats - nothing works!! Any help would be greatly appreciated!! |

| Did she go into season once or twice before she was spayed? If no, it's possible she was spayed too early. You could ask your vet about hormone therapy for her. Sometimes it can take a while for females to lose the hormones in their bodies after a spay. So she may need more time to adjust.
