Couldn't have said it better! I even got my husband to pause the Yankee game to watch this. Kisses to Zaccheus. Does your baby still need to be fed through a tube? The little girl in the video is adorable too.

Zaccheus eats dry kibble and drinks water from a bottle hanging on his cage.
Cricket and Roxy are sisters from other litters.
Roxy was his guardian angel. She helped me foster him. She licked him to get him to eliminate when I didn't know how to help him. Since then, she has gone to her forever family.
My sister, the breeder, didn't breed another litter after his. She never wanted to go through another ordeal like Zacchie. When he was five days old, she and the vet didn't think he had any chance. He was literally dying in my sister's hands. They were going to put him down because it seemed like the gracious thing to do.
But I begged to see if I could save him.
I had no idea what it would take.
I also had no idea how much I would love him.
I love Cricket with my whole heart, but since Zacchie came into our lives, he IS my heart.
I did it all blindly, without any idea what I was doing.
I nearly lost him several times. He had sinus infection after sinus infection, and pneumonia twice.
I can't tell you how many times I wondered if my stubbornness to let him go was selfishness on my part.
I'm glad I held on.

What a cutie! What an inspirational story! I'm so glad he made it against the odds and that you stuck it out with him.

Can they surgically repair his palate like they do human babies? Just wondered. Sounds like he's doing quite well now though.

It made me cry, what a beautiful little darling, he is utterly adorable, you are wonderful, to get him through, and to love him like you do. Sadly many in the world today, wouldn't of tried or cared enough to do what you have done.

Well Done You !!!!!!

The special love and bond you have come out of this, and I am sure you will share this for many many years to come.

The world needs more like you, and others on YT that would do, and have done the same.

What a wonderful happy ending.

Yes, they can surgically repair his cleft. I have been in touch with another cleft Yorkie's owner who did the surgery. She was satisfied with the repair, but it took five separate procedures to complete. The new palate is just flesh over the cleft bone, and always in danger of being perforated by solid objects. So, after much time of careful consideration, we have decided to leave Zaccheus the way God made him.
He is so healthy it scares me sometimes.
Of course, that doesn't take into account his Legg-Perthes disease, for which he DID have surgery.
