| Hypoglycemia I have a little tea cup yorkie named Jay Jay, I almost lost him the first night I had him.. He has hypoglycemia,, he will be 5 years old on sept. 13th.. he still has spells where he shakes real bad and he won't eat . I have had all the test run on him.. he does not have a liver shunt or a tumor.. and all the vets say that he is to old to have hypoglycemia... but when he had his spells i gave him caro syrup and after a little while he is ok... now I went on line and talked to a vet he got me in touch with a specialist on line and she told me to feed him 3 to 4 times a day.. but he won't eat on his own.. so I blend his food with about 2 tablespoons of caro and I feed him with a syringe three times a day and so far he has not had one spell ...its going on 4 months now.. he looks and feels better than he ever has.. |

The fist day we had Jax he wouldn't eat anything and ended up with hypoglycemia. It had me scared to death we had to syringe feed Jax a couple times a day too. I don't know what you've been trying to feed him but but our vet recommended feeding him cooked white rice mixed with chicken baby food and he ate that no problem when we couldn't get him to eat anything else.
