| I know it's not the same thing, but my 180 lb lab/great dane mix goes through a 50 pound bag of dry kibble every 3-4 days.

As for life span, 7 years is a good life span for them. The one I met I believe was 6 years old. He seemed very healthy but moved really slow like an older dog would. I would think you would have to have a big house to have 3 of them living with you. Destiny is 5lbs and I kid you not, she was the size of that dog's paw!! ![]() She was really freaking out because she had never in her life seen such a big dog before.

| My boyfriend wants a dog that big. And I'd love to have one, but we don't have a yard. Well, we do, but it's like a fourth of an acre becaused we live in friggin suburbia. If I could move back home to Georgia, where my parents live, I would TOTALLY have a dog that big. Or at least a labrador.

| There's one in my neighborhood that is quite tall, but much thinner. We call him "Horse" Some tidbits about irish wolfhounds from wikipedia (so consider the source)... -Males average about 3 ft high (33-36 inches) and up to 180 lbs. ![]() -At 10wks old, puppies gain about 1 pound PER DAY and 1 inch a week! -Only live ~4.95-8.75 yrs Last edited by Smarty Bones; 08-19-2008 at 09:14 PM. |

| I love the IW'S too, but I couldn't handle the short lifespan either ![]() I'm not sure but I thought there was a Mastiff of some sort that was in the Guiness book...it seems like he weighed in at almost 300# and was named Hercules...anyone else remember that? |

| I really like Irish Wolfhounds, but they are just not for me. I know a woman who had two of them, and they were VERY well trained which is probably why I like them so much When an intruder broke into her house, they sat on top him while she called the police! I don't think my yorkies could do that |

| My husband doesn't believe that last dog, he swears it is photoshopped. The first picture is crazy though, it would eat me! |
